This thread moves too fast when I'm not able to check it for even a short while ;(I've got 1 cospa pillow atm and I would say it's alright but not amazing. It's only a 150x50 one so 160 covers all have a bit of a gap at the end.. but I almost never look at the feet anyway so it doesn't bother me. I'd be tempted to get a AJ or dreammaster but I can't really fit a second pillow anywhere and am not so unhappy with the cospa as to want to throw it out yet. Haven't had any issues with it causing any damage to dakis (as far as I can tell) so far anyways.
I do also feel the illogical compulsion that paying so much on shipping a pillow is stupid while happily paying far more on the pillow cases all the time. Can't really explain it lol.
http://twitpic.com/8bdqow my pillow mountain is starting to look somewhat like this too now :p Though I've stopped folding things vertically if I can avoid it and only horizontally 2-3 times instead. I find that a vertical fold can leave a much more noticeable and disruptive crease straight down the middle of the image than horizontal ones end up giving. Doesn't matter much if you're using a pillow filling to stretch out the creases, but if you also hang them as I do then I'd recommend trying to avoid a vertical fold!
Yeah, no kidding, right? That's what I was telling Evzlol a week or two ago (or 35 pages back). ;P
You guys are crazy. :) That is an ass-load of covers, Shash! I can only imagine what ZZ's pile of covers is going to look like all mashed up into a mountain of fabric.
I seriously wish that I had that much open closet space. I have a 10'x10' room, making space very important and valuable to me. It's like living in a f**king sardine can. I used to have my own 800 sqf' apartment with a huge walk-in closet. Seriously, you could rent it out it was that big. Hell, it was probably half the size of my room now, if not bigger. It's amazing the things we take for granted. I will be there again...hopefully sooner than later.
Oh, and also I got that K-on cover from Mandrake. Woo-hoo!

Nice nice. Did you end up going with DHL or EMS? As I've probably said for the 4-5th time in this thread, I've been very impressed with the service DHL offers. I get most of my packages in 1-2 days. ^^
Also, you could probably add about 100 to that picture I posted. >_>

100 more? That's insane! :)
Yeah, I figured I'd go with DHL. Everything seems to be going smoothly. I signed up for tracking updates to be sent to me via email and I am pleasantly surprised at how responsive and detailed they are.
Oh, and in regards to my post yesterday about not giving me a legitimate quote: for some reason my quote in your post wasn't showing up as an HTML quoted post. It was just plain text - looked like you just copied and pasted my previous post. ;) Either way, I was just giving you a hard time. But I can see it now. So my sarcasm falls flat. ;)

That's just a rough estimate. I have all of those in the picture with about 3-4 medium/large boxes filled, which seem to hold about 20-30 a piece.
And that was part of the joke on my end... I went back and did a ninja edit to quote you. :p

That definitely would take a lot of work to photograph those. I only did 7 last week and was ready to call it quits. I love how you guys have mountains though, that's just awesome. I imagine there are so many amazing dakimakura in there that could just make any man buckle at the knees.
How long have you guys been collecting for in order to build up that amount of dakimakura's?

I'll have been collecting for about two years come March/April. I have such a large collection because I was able to freely spend for about a year. >_> Now money is fairly tight again, and I just haven't managed to slow down to nearly the level I should because after spending freely for a year, it's hard to change your habits. :p
As for photgraphing covers, yeah, it's a massive pain in the ass. I usually ended up taking closer shots for the covers I really liked, and just took a shot of the packaging for other covers. Then if I was ever talking to someone and they wanted to see a particular cover, I didn't really have a problem and going back and taking shots of that one. I've actually taken shots of my last few hauls, usually between 10-20 covers in each one, and the entire process would take me about two hours. So I never bothered editing the pictures or anything... I'd just rar them up, and post it on Megaupload which is now gone. >_>

Dude, if I had a room filled with that many covers I would pull a fucking Scrooge McDuck and dive head first into a massive pile of them.

I started when I was 20 years old and my very first dakimakura was Axia's Schoolgirl Tamaki which was made of smooth knit(Back then I thought it felt like the best).
Now I'm 24 years old, still going strong.
And LOL at the Griffon pwnage.

It's my happy room, that's for sure. Combined with the rows of boxed figures, stacks of doujinshi/porn, and dakimakura covers... it's my own personal get away. :3

You guys have some good nice collections for only 2-4 years worth. My first dakimakura was in May, so I think I'm going at a bit of a slower pace. Being as I have less and less room for figures, dakimakura's seem to be taking more precedence though.
This Momo looks nice, though something about her face seems off. I'll have to give it more thought come late February, but they made her body look really nice. :)

It does look pretty good, but I agree with you on the face, especially for the "back side" shot.
Space is half an issue for me; I have a nicely sized walk in closet. But it's almost always full because I'm constantly getting new boxes and I'm too lazy to sort things out then and there, so they make a mess of the walking space. Using my closet as my store room also kinda messes up where I store my clothes. More of than not I'll put folded items in a basket and drape shirts and such across the back of a chair or something. >_>
I was really big into figures when I first started buying shit... and I bought practically everything without necessarily regarding quality. I've since sold off a good portion of my collection, but still have a decent amount of figures that I either couldn't part with or can't sell for a decent price. Dakimakura covers quickly took priority in my collecting, though. Ever since my first circle cover I've been absolute enthralled with them and haven't really stopped since.

Hmm my first was the Kanu one which came with Dengeki Festival... which checking now was way back in December 2008. I've not been quite as crazy (or dedicated you could say) as Zengar or Shashin as my collection is in the 60-70 range now I think. I too was big into figures first, and still get the odd few now but not spending remotely as much on them as on dakimakura. Thinking about selling off some of my older figures and a few of the dakimakura I'm not as fond of but somehow never get around to it. ;(
Momo's face doesn't really look like her at all :( Also the hair color is a bit too far from pink too imo.

I've thought about selling a few covers at one point, but I think they'd be a hard thing to sell. It's a fairly limited market, and unless they're sealed it seems a bit odd to me given the assumed nature of the items. Not to mention the fact that the covers we tend to buy can easily run a few hundred bucks, and it all adds together to create an unlikely market.
I guess it would be a bit better if one could figure out how to list on YJA, but even then I wonder how some of my covers would sell.

I wouldn't sell my covers. They're all part of my harem. :3
As for when I started, I believe the first cover I bought was around June 2011. So I've been at it for about 7 months. I don't have quite as much since I'm trying to balance it out with figure collecting as well (and video games, and food, and rent, and etc.) so yeah. That's my story anyways.

I take at least a little responsibility for corrupting BluRay and having him buy more dakimakura covers, though he bought his first few before we even started talking. Still, it wasn't hard to corrupt him and just took a little nudge, if anything. ^^

Hahaha. Yeah, DFan305 blames me for his daki collecting habits. I can't whether I am to blame or not though. I too just told him where to go and what to do when he got there. Drink the magic Cool-aid, kids. >:D
And as a nice surprise, look what I came home to:
If anyone wants high-res shots or me to take pics LMK and I'll get to it before the weekend. If not, I'll post them sometime later this weekend.

Damn, that's quite nice. I was having a couple thoughts to ordering one/both of those Lilith covers, but I kept flip flopping on them. One second I'd be like "Damn, that's hot" and the other I'd be "Eh, not really my thing." I almost picked up the other chick on Mandarake a few weeks back for 12000, but it sold out before I had decided one way or the other.

Thanks man. :)
I was going to say that I found this one: http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/ja/item-ngy-dm542.html
But, yeah it's already gone.
Also, went back and repped ya' like I said I would.
Edit: It's fun, it's sorta' like a pat on the back or getting a trophy or achievement on PS3/360. ;3

Thanks. And I pretty much buy first and ask questions later with Mandarake. I actually ended up canceling one order because I didn't have the money, but I ended up regretting it. Had a ton of 6000 yen covers, some of which I really wanted; think one of them was actually a HOP cover of an amazing redhead.
