Dakimakuras anyone?

Omg I have been stalked :( Think I'm too lazy to find links to my current preorders again lol, I'll just update it when I make any new ones from now on.

Also, I want to get http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=CGD2-23621&page=top but the release date (23rd march) conflicts with my trip to japan (28th.. can't guarantee it's delivered by then). Currently thinking I may need to have yokatta order it and store it a until til my trip is over. Kinda feel stupid to pay a proxy service for something that can be shipped directly though... Don't really have anyone around here I'd feel comfortable shipping a naked dakimakura to. For now I'm asking amiami if they're willing to delay shipping: unlikely but if they would it's solve everything.

Awesome, glad to see those two made it up on AmiAmi; I figured they would since CranCrown/Black seems to post most of their stuff there, especially with the new site design. I remember it was really hit or miss in the past if the Black stuff would make it to the English site.

That might be the first and ultimately the last time that I use DHL. They came to my house, decided that there wasn't a safe place to leave the package so they took it back with them and left a door tag. I can respect that. That's cool that they are looking out for their customers and not just dropping shit off on my doorstep like fucking FedEx (maybe it was UPS - don't remember) who left my new TV on my doorstep and didn't even bother knocking. I fucking watched the guy do it too. I was totally shocked and pretty pissed! I mean, it has a giant image of the TV on the side of the box you morons! Anyhow, so I see in my inbox that a delivery attempt was made and no one was there to receive it. They left a door tag, but not a time for when they made the attempt so staying home from work isn't really an option. I called their 800 number and yesterday afternoon and requested that the package be held at the dispatch center, which is about a 30 minute drive from me (not convenient, but at least I can pick it up on my terms). This way I can take off early from work and go pick it up. Done. "Piece of cake,"
Nope. New email this morning "With courier. Out for delivery." GODDAMMIT!
So now we play this game again.

Gomennasai, I just needed to vent my frustrations with mail and courier services. They can be such a royal pain in the ass. Maybe someday they'll adopt a smart delivery system where people can verify their identity remotely and send a digital signature to the driver in the instance that they are at their delivery destination and no one is able to sign for the package. This way it can be left and the recipient can assume full responsibility and ownership. Honestly, WTF is this, the wild west? Shit might as well be the Pony Express. ( -_-)

I am absolutely digging the Mizuki cover. Though, money's tight, so whether or not I'll be ordering is in question.
As for couriers. I understand the frustration. I believe UPS is the worst. They just leave shit at the door, and boom, gone. Fedex leaves a sticky on the door, and EMS will leave a "we missed you" note in the box. But yeah.... >.>

Now I feel bad since I recommended them to you. D: I've been lucky enough never to have anything that bad happen. The couple of times I haven't been home to sign for it, they called me later in the day and were able to redeliver that day. Sorry things didn't work out for you as smoothly D:

Yeah, that's definitely true. I guess I'm just lucky because I'm usually home when DHL comes around, and if not the office here ends up calling me before day's end to try and redeliver. Guess it's just a fluke here that I either have a good office or my house is on their route a few times. :3

At least you don't get bullshit like " heavy deliveries, insufficient time" from your courier service.
I got this nonsense 4 deliveries in a row, and I'm not even talking about the same parcel but for 4 different parcels consecutively, this is the highest record I've seen from my country's own courier service.
Yesterday, they gave me the same nonsense yet again, now I have to make arrangements to self collect instead.

I requested a shipment from SMJ, which is unusual for me because I normally wait until my oldest item is reaching the time limit. Should still be a fairly good order, though; 3 covers, a blanket, and some doujinshi. ^^

What the what!? A blanket? That sounds cool. Have any images of said blanket?
Also, I spoke with DHL this afternoon, and retract my negativity towards them.
I called again and this time after explaining my situation to the CS rep, was put on hold while she called the driver. She didn't get an answer so she asked for a number where she could reach me and gave me her email, asking me to send her a message stating that the driver can leave the package at our residence. Within minutes she called me back after speaking with the driver, informed me that the driver didn't initially leave the package because he wasn't comfortable with the area (I chuckled and agreed). She then asked if I still wanted it left and I told her where the driver could leave it and she said that it would be delivered today. Still sent her the email like I said I would thereafter. ;)

Now that is some customer service.

Yeah, it should be fairly interesting. It's something that both Marks and Ankokoubou (they usually share a booth at events) decided to do this event cycle. Marks had three that I'm aware of; one of Sena, one of the C.C. Sakura girls, and one of Charlotte (IS), some K-On Chick, and a Lucky Star chick. I probably would have preferred either of the latter two, but one a spur of the moment I won a bid of the Sena.

It's actually really funny to be talking about the blankets now. I just saw the IS one Ankokoubou did on Mandarake and was thinking about buying it, but as I don't know how my first one will turn out I was going to wait on it. I saw it a few hours ago on Mandarake, and just linked it to BluRay while it was still in stock. About five minutes later it sold out, and I laughed. I'm always telling you, if there's something you want on Mandarake, don't hesitate to buy it.

This hobby is getting ridiculous ( '._.)

I have 4 blankets, but they are all in a box right now as I still try to figure out how I want to display them. All four are HOTD blankets, one of my favourite animes. One Saeko, one Saya, one Rei and one with all of them together.

Hard to display them though, because with posers I buy frames so I don't ruin the actual image, but with the blanket can't really buy a frame because a custom frame would be $100+, pins would ruin them, clothespins would also ruin them. I'm at a loss so they just sit in a box with a few other HOTD related items.

The least damaging + cheapest way would probably be clothespins with a cloth acting as a buffer between the blanket and pin. It's pretty much what I do when I'm hanging dakimakura covers for more than a few minutes, and works out pretty well. Still going to put some strain on the blanket, unfortunately, but if you have enough to disperse the strain and the cloth to buffer, it shouldn't be too bad.



It absolutely is. My main wish in the hobby (other than lower prices, obviously) was that stuff didn't have such a limited window to be purchase. There are just so many things to buy in a month, and oftentimes you have to prioritize what you want and risk buying the other stuff on YJA later, for so much. more T_T

Microfibers small towels are ideal if you get hold of some, fold it up and cover the corners and peg it up. Been up for a few months and it has been damage free.



Regarding the Sena Blanket,Is her pussy visible or is it exactly like the image on the paper?

Yeah, it's pretty much the method I've used since collecting my covers whenever I put them up for display. Definitely the best way I've found to go about it, and it's really quite easy on the covers as long as you have that buffer layer there.

As for the Sena, unfortunately I think it will be cut off like that. I can't say for sure since I don't have it yet, but I'll let you know when I get it in a few days. The other two images they used for their blankets don't appear to have any qualms about hiding anatomy. I'm fairly certain the Sakura and Tomoyo postcard you have is used for one and I've seen a postcard that matches up with the IS/K-On/Lucky Star blanket, albeit with the bits censored out by the seller. It seems that the Sena is the only one that they've chosen to be modest with, for whatever unfortunate reason.

I hope I'm wrong and it extends a little further, but we'll see.

Oh you guys mean sheets? If that's the case then yeah, I have a huge-ass Little Witch sheet/blanket. And just bought a this small microfiber towel on Mandrake (what I received from DHL today). I used this as somewhat of a test with it being my first Mandrake purchase.

Thanks for the tips guys, the buffer technique seems like a good and smart way of doing it. I'll have to buy some cloth to get it going. :)
