Preordering is definitely best.. if only there weren't all those beautiful event exclusives forcing us to YJA ;( Think the highest I've gone is "only" 16.5k for a cover, though I'm lucky in that my tastes don't really sway to the works of the super expensive circles.
Yeah, event exclusives are absolutely killer. Luckily it seems as if more and more circles are deciding to resell at a later date, but there are still those few circles holding out entirely or waiting until the next major event until they decide to sell their old stuff. :(

Just ordered a Damamuko 2wt dakimakura. I should get it by the 20th.

Just wondering where did you order it from? I've been looking for a 2nd copy for quite some time but to no avail. Here's some shots of mine.

You'll have to excuse my incompetent photography skills though.

Except the circles we like always have those multiple variations on different events kind of nonsense. Marks and Anko Come to mind here.
God knows how much money we spend for those.
This thread is moving so fast, I get tons of notifications just being away for a day. We'll probably overtake the gunpla thread in a while.

That is another nice Rin, very subtle and sexy. :DAlso, very good bonus. :D
Yeah, while I definitely prefer my covers as erotic as possible, with overflowing juices and all, I can certainly appreciate art. I did a top ten list at one point and posted it in this thread; was a good mix of the really erotic and the more artsy ones.
Since I've posted it maybe 2-3 times in this thread already, I'm going to spoil it this time. It's a copy/paste from an email I sent to drakanity ages ago, so excuse the random notes. :P
Spoiler:
At this point, it's really outdated, but I still love all the covers there.
The poster was from a doujin goods set I got from C81 in my last SMJ batch; also came with a doujinshi of the series and a Kobato bag.
And yeah, Zengar, I get a fair number of notifications a day, but never have really big numbers because I'm in the thread all the time. D: I'm definitely warming up to Marks these days, but Anko doesn't do too many variations and until recently, the variations they did do were just changes to the color scheme of dress without any removal of clothing. But I figured that I now have maybe 21-22 Anko covers total, so that's quite a few... considering I had to buy most from YJA, I don't even want to know how much I've spent. And unfortunately a lot are Suede; I might eventually try to pick up some 2WT copies of my favorites that are suede, but it's a low priority unless I get a good price.

I actually got outbid :(, I didn't bother participating in a bidding war since I didn't like the reverse all that much (Even though I loved the front side). Yahoo Auction Japan. Their is still 2 up, both buy now 9000 yen. Search the characters name onto yahoo auctions and you'll find it.
I ended up buying a bootleg C.C dakimakura, (Due to the authentic ones on YA has bidding wars going up to 26k and higher)
Does anyone know whether Tricot Touch (トリコットタッãƒ) is the same as 2 way Tricot? Or is it smooth knit in a different name?

No idea, but I'd imagine it feels similar to 2WT than Smooth Knit, but I could be wrong. Does it list the percentage of material anywhere (like on a tag or something?)
As for the C.C., is that the one with the epic ass? I'm really not a fan of company covers, but it's one cover I did buy and I paid 22k for it, I think. Though I'm fairly certain there was an official Taiwan release of the cover, and there was a ton flooding YJA at one point, but I could be wrong on the specifics.

Yep, the one with the epic ass, official one from Taiwan. Do you know what material it is? It was listed as touch tricot, so I had no real clue what it really was.
I'm still thinking of whether getting the bootleg 2 touch tricot or the authentic taiwan one which is touch tricot (Which is gamble since I have no clue what it is).

I actually haven't opened mine. I think the Japanese release may have been Smooth Knit, but I don't know for sure. I could go pull it out of my dakimakura room and tell you, if you'd like.

I'm afraid I can't be of that much help; it reads Polyester 100%. I don't know if the Japanese release varies from the Taiwanese release; looks similar in pattern to Smooth Knit, but I honestly can't say for certain. I know drakanity has it and has opened it, so I'll ask him.

It probably is 2 way tricot, or a variant of it. He says トリコットタッãƒï¼ˆæ°´ç€ã®ã‚ˆã†ãªæ„Ÿã˜ã®ç´ æã§ã™ï¼‰(It uses material swimsuits uses. I decided to buy it anyways. Thanks for all the help, your really helpful :).

Yeah, that's probably the best way to explain tricot. I imagine it feels really similar to the Japanese style school swimsuit... though that's purely a guess on my part. :p Has a nice stretch to it.
Oh, and you could probably make more sense of this than Google Translate does; should give you a basic idea of the various materials. As a warning though, if you decide to browse around the rest of the page, a lot of their covers are pretty loli heavy:

I generally use rikaichan for kanji and avoid google translate. Thanks for the info on the materials :D. I'm fine with loli stuff, just not really interested in it XD.
Also, when you meant Royalpillows did you mean this?

Ah, true; kanji can definitely complicate things. Though my Japanese knowledge is mostly forgotten classes and stuff I've learned to pick up in the hobby (dakimakura, material types, katakana, etc.)
Yeah, that's the site I was talking about. BluRay swears by their cluster fiber material, though none of their default sizes are really sufficient unless you maybe have a 150 x 50 case; most are 160 x 50 these days. You can call them up and ask for a custom size (in inches) though. As for pillows, I don't have any experience with buying them on Amazon... my cover to pillow ratio is like 1xx:1 (I only have one pillow for all of my covers. >_>) And that's a Cospa one I bought from AmiAmi when they did a half off shipping campaign.

Hmm, when I order a custom sized one should it be exactly the same measurements as the pillow cover or a little less?

BluRay posted a few pages back on the subject, and I believe he suggested ordering a pillow that was slightly bigger; especially for the materials that have some stretch. Let me dig it up and I'll quote it here.
So when I finally got this pillow. I put on one of my 160cm daki over it, and i think about 2-3 cm of the actual pillow stuck out (by pillow, i mean, the fabric that covers the filling. the filling itself was all in there with my daki), which I just shoved into the daki, then zippered it up. It felt full and very "huggable". Couldn't be happier to have a hug-worthy pillow. :3
Needless to say, I'm not using my 63x20in pillow. It's a polyester fill lol. It's just sort of sitting in a box all lonely and stuff. Maybe I should pull it out and put a 150cm daki over it.

Also, as a point to note. Just because a cover is 160x50cm (equivalent to 63x20 inches) doesn't mean you should get a pillow that is exactly that. I did that with a pillow, and there was still a lot of empty space that was unfilled mainly because the tricot daki stretches a bit. When I ordered my cluster fiber pillow, I made sure to get a pillow that was sufficiently larger than my daki so that it would fill the daki up completely. If you get a 68x20 inch pillow (172x50cm), it will fill your daki without any gaps. Plus, the extra 12 cm will just be crushed anyways. So when I finally got this pillow. Think it's legit? If so, I am all over this one.
Says that it is smooth knit. Wonder if it ever came in a 2Way tricot....

Both Ask and HOP did a fair amount of their covers in Smooth Knit, and continue to do so every now and then, I think. This particular cover only came in Smooth Knit according to the dakimakura blog: http://blog.xn--er-573a1isbf1441e2hs87j.jp/archives/3544
It's probably legit, since it's just a bid 1000 yen lower than retail; they've probably had it for awhile and are looking to get rid of it, so they price it lower in hopes of someone bidding and starting a bidding war. That's why you'll see a lot of legit covers start at 1 yen sometimes, but by the time they end they're a lot closer to market value; the 1 yen bid just all but guarantees a bidder to get things rolling.
I'd say it's legit, but there's always a risk.
