For all those who don't know of this site I found a Japanese blog dedicated to dakimakura info: 埋もれる抱ãæž•er I found it useful and even added it to my RSS feed.Yep, that's an absolutely amazing site. I probably check it about 30-40 times a day, either to see upcoming releases, see if I can find a sample image for a YJA listing, or just see what other work a particular circle has done.

Absolutely. :P
Summer classes are wrapping up, so I have time to cater to my favorite obsession. Evening when I'm busy with a load of coursework, I still probably find time to check Mandarake/other sites pretty frequently. You'll also have to keep in mind that some of those visits are probably pretty close together; I'll do a sweep of YJA and have maybe 5-10 listings that don't have a sample image, so I'll turn to the blog to see if I can't find them.

I salute your prowess. I look around maybe at most twice a day, once at the start and at the end of the day. That was good enough for me nail that exclusive 2 days Marks web order dakis. As of recent, my purchases seem to have broken a whole new record, I added this seemingly erotic figure, I think she's called Chie and comes with a bathtub from Native. Im not really keen on collecting figures, I have like only 20 figures throughout the years, but damm she looked awesome.
Anyway, show me your new stuff, Im dying to see some new dakis I can buy.

I haven't taken some shots in some time, but I'm working on my "Room of Expensive Hobbies" now (it's just a glorified closet I've devoted to it.) So I'll probably break down and take a bunch of pictures after my next (and probably last batch for awhile) comes in. Chie is an amazing figure; I'm a big fan of Ishikei's work and Native always does top notch stuff, so you definitely made a good purchase there. I really wish I had picked her up, but I've been running in the red month by month with all the dakimakura expenses lately.
As far as my recent acquisitions, probably nothing you wouldn't be aware of already.
A lot of expensive purchases from ã‚ã‚“ã“工房, a Marks cover, and 3-4 covers from an artist you already have some work of, OriginZero.
Quick and in-concise of the past few months:
3 Illust Guerrilla items: the Twins, Konomi, and a big cushion cover
3 from ã‚ã‚“ã“工房: Shana no Shakugan, Gosick, and an original I believe. - Haven't received the latter two yet
2 from Blueberry: Both Touhou characters, but I'm not well informed on names... the drunkard and a blue haired chick
Sheliss from Night When Evil Falls
1 from Marks: A Sakura that I haven't received yet
Then the 4 from by OriginZero: 2 Touhou covers that I have already, a third that I won a week or two ago, and then I just won the Mio cover a couple of days ago.
Maybe I'll take some pictures or recent stuff before I get my next big batch, but we'll see.

Well, I found Chie at a decent buy now price of 17k yen. ANyway, prior to her, I own one Native figure, the Banana Girl illustrated by T2. I got some new bounties to show as soon as they arrive next week 1x2 from amiami and 1 x2 from Origin Zero( I bought Seraphim) AND DANG IT, I KNEW IT, you were the one who snatched Mio away from me. Excuse me while I go to one corner and cry.

Yeah, that is pretty decent for the bathtub version, as I think she originally retailed around 15k and you would have had to gone through a proxy no matter what. I have their Erio cover on preorder; did you have to go through a proxy for them? I ordered directly on the site, and they sent me an email in English, so I'm assuming I'll be fine. If so, the prospect of finding a circle willing to ship directly to ship globally really excites me.
As for the Mio, share the wealth, my friend. This will be my first of this particular dakimakura and I'm quite excited to have it. Though if you really want a back up, there's another listing for her right now, for only 1000 yen more than what I paid: http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k142665293

Black and White store and their affliate Origin Zero ships internationally, I bought from them thrice directly . Okami, Super Sonico and Seraphim, they're gonna ship out my Sera later today.Yes, you should be pleased to know what you paid covers shipping to you(it's EMS ^_^) SO I always found this store to be one of my favourite, They have good deals that are valued for money, they also use 4 way tricot, which is I assure you personally from using Mio and Okami to be very durable and much more scratch resistant.I didn't order Erio, because I didn't quite like it, I wanted their variant B but apparently it will not be made. But I just saw their upcoming new work, that blond Loli, it looks good enough that I will buy it,thats coming from a complete breast lover.
Actually, I have 2 copies of Mio already, why I thought of getting another is beyond me.>_>

I was curious about how that whole situation worked as far as circle and such. I saw Black and White, OriginZero, Fine x Cloudy Showers, and then all the different Japanese names; wasn't really sure what was what, but figured that Black and White was just the store that sold everything from a few different circles.
That's great to hear, I'm definitely ordering their newest cover when it's available. It fits to so many of my different fetishes that it's not even funny, and with an all inclusive price and not having to go through a proxy, it's a great deal. As for me, I just mentioned my fetishes, but I'm all about the smaller bust, not necessarily loli, but there is quite a lot of overlap there obviously. Anyhow, I really wish I had known about the store sooner; looking through their products, I probably would have ordered the majority of the cases during their initial run, with some of them being ones I really regret missing out on. And I wouldn't have had to pay the premium for the ones I do have.
These are the two I have already:
http://www.bwstore.com.tw/index.php?action=product&do=prd_detail&id=12
http://www.bwstore.com.tw/index.php?action=product&do=prd_detail&id=18
With this one and Mio coming from SMJ:
http://www.bwstore.com.tw/index.php?action=product&do=prd_detail&id=25
I was really impressed with every aspect of the two I have so far; the artwork is amazing, the feel is absolutely great against the skin, and even the packaging is a refreshing change from the generally standard cheap plastic wrapping/bag. I was even surprised about how much I liked the blonde cover, considering it's mostly non-ero in design.
I ordered Erio mainly because she met several of my dakimakura fetishes, once again. I don't really know anything about the character, other than she's cute, but even if I didn't really like the art, I think I'll order just about anything this store puts out.
Heh, I can understand that. I only have one duplicate that I absolutely know I have, and that's the Mio from the Chinese circle; it was one of the first covers I ordered from YJA and it got a lot of use on my pillow. It's a great cover, and when it got another run on D-Stage for 14000ish, I couldn't help but include it in a order. It's funny to note that I got the 5 set of buttons when I ordered it from YJA, but didn't when I got it officially. Other than that, I wouldn't be surprised at all if I have a duplicate or two that I'm not aware of; short of the really expensive covers I actively seek out, there's quite a few that I just threw into my cart because they were cheap or whatever, but they don't really stick in my brain.
Edit: Oh well, was hoping to pick up another wonderful cover by OriginZero, but another SMJ user is willing to go higher than I am at the moment. Shame too, I would have curtailed some other purchases had I know this one was going to come up. Hopefully I'll get another chance somewhere down the line.

大神涼å Type CNo wonder, she's like one of my favourites as well. She's extremely rare as well, considering she was reprinted a month ago. How much did you bid for her anyway?
By the way, I recently renovated my house, and I got a new space to pin up my seldom used dakimakuras as displays, I like some feedback, if like there's another way of doing it.

My max bid was 28500; I'd be more than willing to go higher, but I've come quite close to maxing out my bidding limit as it is, and I know I can't really afford it right now. If I were better off financially, I likely would have stopped around the 35000ish range, but who knows.
That seems to be the best way of going about things, as far as display goes. Only two things I could suggest is moving the clips a tad further apart so the top of the cover is straighter and maybe putting a bit of cloth in between the clips and the cover to act as a buffer. Not really the biggest deal, as I doubt the damage to the cloth is minimal, but it may keep the cover in better shape longer. At least where the clips are attached, anyway.
I've done some innovating myself lately, and have found a fairly decent if slightly stupid way of storing my covers. I'm basically using the bag they come in, to protect them from dust and such, folding a part of the bag over a hangar and then clipping the bag onto the hangar. Keeps the cover protected by the bags, free from strain by the clips, and gives me a fairly easy way to browse through them. Think I need to buy some cardboard strips though, as the ones I'm hanging that aren't really tightly folded or have the cardboard insert, sag towards the bottom of the bag. Doesn't cause any harm to the cover, but it certainly makes it harder to see what it is at a glance if it's all bunched up.

Whoa, thats a lot you're willing to put in, I was lucky enough to pre-order 2 of it for like 2.5k yen lesser with no additional fees.>_>
Thats a efficient way for sorting dakis out, it's always a pain to be looking in one huge pile for that one daki you want for the night or something.
About the clips position, Im having a bit of problems distancing them because the way smooth knit(left) and 2 WT(right) stretches. It seems if I base it on 2 WT, if I were to hang a smooth knit daki, it gets overstretched but if I do it vice versa, my 2 WT daki will sag at the top. what a pain!>_

Yeah, it's a nice cover. You know, I like having exclusive covers that not a lot of others have, but on the other hand, I really wish more circles would be willing to take orders year round. I guess it wouldn't be worth it if they only printed one at a time to meet demand, but if they were willing to take batches of orders. The majority of the system in its current form is really lose-lose for everybody but the people reselling dakimakura covers. The people who want them pay absurd prices to get them, and the circles that actually make the dakimakura covers lose out on quite a few sales that would be directed. Unless of course it's the circles themselves selling the covers at inflated prices. :P Still, I would be a very happy person if rarer covers were more readily available. But I know it's not likely to happen, ever, short of maybe a few circles who run stores that at least have some items semi-available.
It's easy to browse, but not very space/hangar efficient. I have maybe 30-40 hung now and I'm out of hangars and it's taking up about 1/3 of the space I have to hang things in the room. I'm taking a break from sorting them until I have more hangars to do the job, but I'll likely take down the few mass market covers I have hanging and just reserve the space for my special covers.
Ah yeah, and you don't really have much space to work with there. Sucks, but at least it still looks pretty good the way you have it.

Except that in normal circumstances, it's not cost effective when it's production is limited especially most of the time only mere handful sought to obtain after it's release(Due to finanical constraints and the likes), since majority who wants them have already pre-ordered. And as for the Okami daki, it's was reprinted due to popular demand, I read it in their blog.Shame you missed it.Actually, Im surprised you actually missed the pre-order for it since you look up the daki blog so often. And as you mentioned it yourself, a daki is no longer exclusive if it's been reprinited over and over agaiun. One reason I gave up on everything cospa( They reprint stuff over and over again) except for their recent shirts because they look awesome.
The only doujin circle I know that allows orders all year round is this one:
http://dakemakura.com/sinsaku.html
They consist of a bunch of different artist, so the illustrations can look very different, there are a few that have caught my eye and to be honest it's quite cheap.

Yeah, Dakemakura is awesome. That actually highlights another problem with year round ordering, though; because I know they'll have the items I want when I have the money to spare, I haven't done a big order with them yet, versus the few I had picked up over a year ago from D-Stage, before I knew I could get it directly from them.
True enough, though if they just put in the possibility for a re-release given enough interest (whatever it takes to make it cost effective, even if they have to raise the price a bit) it could be a middle ground that's fair to all. I may check the dakimakura blog religiously, but it's usually either looking up a certain circle or checking the front page or two; I very rarely go through more than the 3-4 current pages, and stuff can be added really quickly.
I personally don't care about exclusivity; I'd much rather save a few thousand dollars and have more of the rare covers I want. I don't look forward to paying $630 for a dakimakura cover again, but it may be the case someday if I really want something. I don't buy many covers you could get from Hobby Search/AmiAmi myself, mainly because I find the actual quality of the image lacking. One of my very first dakimkaura covers was Shizuku from Kampfer, and her actual body proportions looked really strange with how much free space was left on the cover and the details were a bit lacking if you took a closer look. That's not the case with every mass market cover, as I have had some really nice ones, but I prefer just buying things from circles usually.

Which still brings the question, how will a dakimakura become rare when you can order them again and again after a while? I do agree on the part for preference for doujin dakimakuras. For official dakimakura releases, it's always a hit or miss thing, I really loved the Chizuru Tendou dakimakura I got off Amiami, but come to think of it, most of the C : Drive dakis I've seen and owe are all awesome.Cospa is the the one that always give me the OMG WTF reaction no matter how many times I see it.
