That's not the case with every mass market cover, as I have had some really nice ones, but I prefer just buying things from circles usually.
Which still brings the question, how will a dakimakura become rare when you can order them again and again after a while? I do agree on the part for preference for doujin dakimakuras. For official dakimakura releases, it's always a hit or miss thing, I really loved the Chizuru Tendou dakimakura I got off Amiami, but come to think of it, most of the C : Drive dakis I've seen and owe are all awesome.Cospa is the the one that always give me the OMG WTF reaction no matter how many times I see it.
You make a good point, but I know that I personally don't collect dakimakura covers because they're rare. It just happens that majority of the covers I like are fairly limited, but I base all of my purchases on the merit of art and just how much I like the character. With the way things are, this more or less forces me to focus on purchasing the rare cases first, or risk the chance of acquiring them/paying even more at a later date. If all dakimakura covers were available all the time for a set price, I'd still buy just as many and the ones with the art I liked the most would be the first in my cart.
Agree with you on C: Drive, I think I have two of their covers and haven't really been disappointed. I'd say the biggest drawback to corporate covers, even of the ero variety, is that there's a very high chance for censorship; either creatively done or just by not drawing shit. My biggest disappointment still stems from a cover that had amazing sample shots and was fairly erotic. I got it, and instead of the them trying to creatively censor or even just leave the chick with her panties on, she just had absolutely nothing below the waste.

I feel you man, they could have just draw at least a slit.I guess the reason why I love doujin covers most of the time is because they aren't restricted, they draw genitalia as they please.

Got a another new pillow by A and J, the pillow feels so soft and smooth. Best of all, it's extremely thick, beats cospa's out of the water. This is my 2nd
What I like about this pillow is that it has a zipper on the pillow itself so you can refill the silicon cotton in it.

This beautiful blond is one of the first non-ero commerical dakimakura cover I have bought in ages, you can see why I like it so much, the artwork and print is gorgeous and it comes with a telephone card.
Sera on the hand is a doujin from black and white store made by denmoe. The art isn't all that fantastic but well, I always wanted a Sera dakimakura but I hate cospa's print quality and the other doujins I saw wasn't even that good so yah.
I fought a hard battle for this next beauty, she and all the rest of the cast that appear in eroge have dakis made for them. But apparently she's the most popular, I can see why though.
The rest of the stuff no one gives a shit, My Chie figure, a Tamaki tapestry and to heart 2 dungeon travelers LE game. Being the crazy fuck that I am, I bought 2 copies of all 3 dakimakuras.>_>

Yeah, I'd say that is pretty crazy; you could have easily expanded your collection by three other covers you didn't have (still insane logic for everyone else but us :p) Still, nice three you have there; the non-ero one is certainly worth it. And I need to consider picking up one of those pillows myself; I currently only have the one pillow body (despite having so many dakimakura covers) and it's getting pretty beat up.
