It's painful for me to celebrate Christmas where as someone I know who is dear to me, whose birthday is on that same date, but now has now gone to the afterlife. Should I still celebrate this holiday whereas it only brings bitter and painful memories each passing year?

When I was 2 years old, I asked my mother if Santa was real; she said no and thus I have never celebrated a single Christmas day in my life..............

I guess. It's not the same when I was a kid, though. But it's still nice to feel the holiday season.

Ive complete lost my holiday spirit. Christmas feels like any other day to me(minus the snow and tons of gifts) and that's kinda depressing >.>

I mostly celebrate the religious side to it as I don't think the commercial side of it is really in the spirit of goodwill to mankind and peace on earth, nor the joy of the gift of giving.
But Santa is a great thing for little kids. I know I enjoyed it a lot growing up.

Christmas is good, paid time off, visit friends and family, and free stuff. Not sure you can beat that line up.

I haven't celebrated Christmas in years now. "Anything you want?" "No."
When I was a kid, practically everywhere was closed over the Christmas period.
Now, for people who do work (not me), it's...
< Christmas Eve = Work
Christmas Eve = Work
Christmas Day = Everywhere Closed
> Day after onwards = Work
Basically, a shitload of hype for one commercialistic day of the year. There's nothing special about it anymore.
This year, I plan to spend the entire day on my own. At least then I can sleep, watch anime, fap, etc.
