Do I have to be a terrible person?
I've been forced to watch the same Christmas specials, shown on tv, 4 times a day, for an entire month, since I was 3, till I was 21... I perfectly memorized them by the time I was 9, and only took me the same year it was shown to memorize the newer ones...
They drove me crazy, because nothing besides Christmas special were ever shown... Shows with 50+ episodes dealings with a bunch of other subject matters, ignored for the same episode over and over... It was torture... I had no choice... All I had was only the TV for most of those years.
At some point, around 16-17, I started to see the contradiction between the "season of giving and compassion, of cherishing your fellow man and giving thanks" versus...
...the perverse consumerism that is completely against what I was brainwashed into believing through those incessant cartoons...
I really don't know how to interpret it with anything other than scorn or disgust. This time of the year only ever entails this (the videos) to me.

AssasinZAssasin
Not Hentai Protagonist
Free presents and some spending money.
That's what it is to me, not like those lucky anime protagonists who always have someone to spend it with. (or Hentai protagonists who get loving Xmas Vanilla sex)

I love christmas time because of the weather, songs, food, X-Mas cartoons, and most of all how my town looks at night with all the diferent colored lights

Yes, but it's not really important for me.
It's just another party with family/friend, nothing special.

I have to celebrate with my dad's family, but I don't like them. I wish I could hang with my friends during Christmas.

"I don't believe in Santa Claus and I hate holiday cheer and I'm a terrible person"
If I wasn't forced to "celebrate" it with my family, I wouldn't.
I don't care about the gift, haven't asked for anything nor I have given anything to anyone, for at least 10 years now. (I'm 24).
I hate the taste of turkey and they refuse to buy/let me buy chicken instead, even if just for me, I don't like most of the holiday type foods either, I hate crowds and especially smokes from all the smokers during the "party". Also, all those annoying drunks I wish I could just throw in front of a car...
Yes, I'm the Grinch of Christmas, sue me. To me it's just another day in the year, another day closer to my ultimate death, nothing worth celebrating.

The spirit of the holidays has left me with age. Hell, I'll still watch the Polar Express though. Great movie.

When I was a kid I loved getting presents. Now as an adult I perhaps enjoy more picking and giving them to my family.
