I prefer my room to be pitch black when I'm sleeping. If it's not, usually I'll pull the sheets up to give me some shelter from the light.

With the lights off, but not entirely, I need a dim light source or I can't sleep (paranoid xP) so I use my TV's sleep mode so it turns itself off (TV with not so much brightness of course)

Always off, I just can't sleep with lights on. Also why I can't take naps during the day, because of the daylight.

I sleep with the lights off. When I was little I was shit-scared of the dark, but even then slept with the lighs off.
Although did go through a phase where I wanted the lights on purely so I could see when waking up in the middle of the night to go for a piss.

I usually slept with a nightlight beside my bed when I was a kid, while I usually turn off the lights when I'm sleeping (or whenever I'm not studying in my room at night).

When I was a kid, I sleep with lights on - was scared of the dark.
Now, I prefer the lights off. When there's light even if your eyes are closed, it feels like it's blinding.

I'm capable of sleeping with the lights off, but because my older sister got scared of the dark ever since she watched 'the Ring', I've also gotten used to sleeping with the lights on. That, or maybe I just like sleeping too much to care about whether the lights are off or not. :P
