Wow... a ten month later bump, but interesting question.
I turn everything off, but the ceiling still has some of those glow in the dark stars from when I was 8. They barely glow anymore now.

I don't sleep, i merely wait.
I usually sleep with the lights off. But if i'm feeling particularly paranoid, i'll have a flashlight (with an a, not an e. ya pervs) under the bed that i can turn on so it illuminates the room just enough that it's not pitch black.

I sleep with my torch within arm's reach. It's bright enough to blind a dude, and it helps me feel secure at night, what with me getting it as a kid from my cousin-in-law.

I need some light to sleep... Not too much; a small LED light not directly targeted to me or the moonlight does the work! But what I need that is weird is sound: I NEED noise or I just can't sleep. I fix that by putting my favorites play lists ON at low volume when I go to the bed (speakers), or doing drum with my fingers when I can't do that (or I just focus on the noise of the city).
A-And my specially weird nighttime habit! I can't sleep if I'm not moving, so I roll, roll and roll my head on the pillow until I'm almost sleeping!!
...yes, I'm not a very good bedtime partner~ But I sleep really good and I'm very happy for it~

I sleep with a small light on because when I don't I have death related nightmares. I occasionally can avoid turning on a light when I have a chance to sleep during the day.

I like it to be dark with no light...my wife however doesn't like sleeping in the dark but only when she is alone.

I prefer off but with the amount of work I have been doing lately I learned how to sleep with them on... and on top of books... sometimes leftovers too...
I'm a slob.

Every single light must be off in order for me to sleep. It's super frustrating trying to sleep with the lights on. Don't see how anyone could do it to be honest.

If I leave my desk lamp on, I usually wake up to turn it off.
Otherwise, I sleep in a pitch black void, and it's great.

I sleep with my lights off but my closet light on with the closet door closed so I can waste electricity.
