Pretty sure the fan on my laptop is screwed. It's been making a sorta rattling noise since yesterday.
I can't afford a new one right now, so the question is- how long can I still use my laptop with a busted fan before it's dangerous?

Uhhhhh your computer needs to dissipate heat somehow. Especially if it's a laptop. There's going to be very little if any circulation and the fan needs to take heat away from the heatsink. I don't really know how long it's going to last but if you insist on using it without a fan you should at least monitor your temperatures. You don't want anything running at over 90 C and it'll most definitely exceed that without a fan.

you can try using a laptop cooling fan/stand (if it is called that) one of those stand were you stick your laptop on and has a fan on it
