Anyone know exactly what happened with the last 4minutes of that 49ers/Vikings game? Either some foul play by the refs or by Harbaugh himself, both maybe, who knows?

I mean, if the former head of officiating knows the rules and these replacements don't... suspicious. And that first challenge, the ball came out after the whistle was blown. 5 Timeouts 49ers GG?

I know, I began watching late and I decided to make my picks, but I can't believe the chiefs, titans, and vikings won.

I didn't expect my Chiefs to win honestly, just was hoping my offense could do it, since I have faith in my D. I was surprised and ofc am happy. 3 OT games and a couple games with a safety too.
My earlier prediction of no teams going past 3-0 seems more and more likely, after today its possible there will be only 2 undefeated 3-0 teams....

Now that we got that out of the way lets talk about the ref's....actually I don't really care if we have replacements or not because it's easy for me to look at the situation from both sides, the NFL's and the ref's union. I can sympathize with both parties.

Yes, this thread isn't about football(games/players/scores) anymore, its about these fucking replacement refs!!

It has finally directly affected the outcome of a game. Shit has hit the fan big time. One of the two sides needs to get something done.
Can you imagine if this situation goes into the playoffs, with these refs...

If it gets to that point, Gooddell either needs to step down, or be helped down Mubarak/Gaddafi style.

Despite this, I'm really getting annoyed with everyone's reaction to the replacement officials. These refs are unpredictable as to what they'll call and what they won't, but the bad calls usually are evenly distributed between both teams. These refs just give everyone an excuse for when their team loses.

I thought they made the right call at the end of the Packers-Seahawks game. I've seen numerous plays in which both receivers and defenders simultaneously caught it, and the experienced referees would rule it a catch. Even though Jennings had much more control of it, he didn't pull it away from the seahawk reciever, so it was a draw, therefore a catch.

It's not that there replacement refs are unpredictable, its clear as day, they are inexperienced. These refs only have experience calling High School, Junior-college games, and only a small number have experience calling some Pac 12 games. The fact that bad call are "evenly" being distributed... bad calls are still bad calls. I am watching the games to see the action, excitement and awesome plays, not to see refs constantly in talks and review. Do you know how many challenges there have been as of this week in comparison to last season? I am sorry I don't have exact numbers, but any fan will tell you, a lot.


The ref made the wrong call, on-the-field, and I mean the ref that called it a TD. Jennings made initial contact with the ball, and was possessing it and holding it in, and Tate then, literally like a second/split second puts an arm around the ball, which is in Jennings possession. Upon landing on the ball, there was a struggle, and the ref came in and just saw Tate with a hand on the ball, and just assumed TD... He didn't even look at the other ref, no discussing or anything just, automatic TD. Now yes, had the real refs been there, they would have had a tough choice to make, but at the very least, they wouldn't be making 2 different calls. Plus the real refs wouldn't have called Pass Inf. on Shields, which set this whole disaster up in the first place.

define "evenly" I'm used to bad calls but when you have calls that make Russian roulette more fair then we have a big problem, and as for excuses, I generally hate excuses but there is a thin line between excuses and being justified

Nuuu Don't!!! The calls aside, how many games does Rogers get sacks 8 times!?! Just remember like, the first 3 quarters, and like... 7 minutes of the 4th quarter.
