im like that the new movie has him looking like his original depiction. also i feel like japan is giving us one last chance and are like "ok america you can do a godzilla movie but remember last time, we can just kill it in one of our movies if we need to."

I do have a good feeling for this movie. It seems like they have a good mindset with this movie and are trying to legitimately do it well. The trailer was solid, though I'll try to avoid any future trailers that might be too spoilerish. Definitely want to go into this movie as fresh as possible all things considered.

Hmm.... I will reserve judgement but already things look bad. The Japanese Godzilla movies were based on campy and stupidness while aimed at kids (with the exception of the original) and the movies were AWARE of that. The 1998 was a bad ripoff of Jurassic Park meets Independents Day directed by people who don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.
Cloverfield, for example, was stupid because their was only 1D characters with cliche Personality in which you wanted the monster to eat them. The product placement was also very noticeable. From the looks of the trailer, I have a feeling it will fall into that. The trailer shows more to do with the humans than Godzilla, each appears to be cliche personalities and being all "dark and spooky" crap.
However, never judge a trailer because it can change but just looking at the trailer I do not have hope for it but will reserve judgement until I see it.
Oh and the CGI look like crap. However, this is coming from someone who thinks the Star Wars CGI looks like crap in comparing it too Lord of the Rings.
However, I am a film student so I take everything with a grain of salt and review the crap out of it.

I'm really excited to see this. I may or may not see it in Imax. Depends if I can find the money for it and still see the other movies that will come out for the summer

the one thing that I'm lookin foward to is that monster battle XD
on that second trailer you see what looks like a bat leg or something D:
but on one of the older trailers you see a multi-legged creature :P
The suspense is killing me!

Got Megane?
Been watching all 28 Godzilla movies, leading up to the May 16th release. (ofc I will skip that horrible Roland Emmerich version).
Currently: Just finished movie 15, 1975s "Terror of Mechagodzilla".

Usually I avoid the trailers as I get close to the release date of a movie I really want to see, but each time I see a new Godzilla trailer I get more jazzed up. Seriously can't wait for May!

This rendition better have G-man's trademark roar and breath.
From the bits and pieces it looks like his original form is right on track.

Not sure I like the sound of that. Gojira should always be an invulnerable force of chaos and destruction.
