Go for the GTX 970, this one is on par with the AMD one but has more memory. they can play games on equal matters. but the GTX is a bit better with 2GB more memory

Yeah, Nvidia tends to have cards of better quality since they specialize in them.
Personally can't figure out how much VRAM I want though, methinks 4Gb is enough. Anyone else?

That's more than enough for even most multi monitor setups at 1080p or 1440. You're not gonna need any more than that if you just game on a single panel

4GB of VRAM is overkill for a single 1080p monitor. If you have anything past that (or triple 1080p monitors) then it'll be fine. If you play Skyrim with a lot of mods, that extra VRAM will help you out as well.

At that resolution I've yet to see a mobile gpu that can run newer games at that native resolution with any amount of vram. You'd be lowering the resolution either way.

970. Though, I am a bit of a NVIDIA fanboy. Running a 760 right now and have a 460 before that. Never had any issues with either and both have done pretty well. AMD stuff isn't exactly bad, but the cheaper price has it's downsides. Higher temps, lower performance, less optimization, etc.
