[Guide] Recovering Favourites from Browser History
0
As you should have known, a lot of titles on Fakku are deleted since 1/1/16.
rantsTopics pop up, mainly from users who lost their Favourite list and didn't have them backed up prior the removal.
I am one of those users who didn't back up their favourite list.
After brainstorming for a while, I realised that the titles you've read should remain in your browser history!
Thus this short guide on how to extract your browser history and filter them so you have something like this in the end, to help in finding the lost titles.
There are a few caveat to this method though:
* It recovers pages you've visited, not only the favourites.
* It doesn't recover everything you've read, but only up to the oldest record of your browser history.
* It doesn't spit the whole title, since the urls are sanitized version of the titles.
Please see the following gist for the guide, as the formatting is nicer with markdown:

I only covered Chrome/OSX, but the idea should be the same for Firefox/Windows.
I might extend the guide to cover them, or make an automated script for it if I get bored.

Pretty good idea. I wonder if we could make this simpler though, because I'm sure most people won't understand well enough to do it in Windows.
