I'm going on a third date with a girl on Valentines day, and I don't know if I should get her anything. We went to lunch and a movie on the first date and got coffee on the second. We are kind of in that state where we are both still feeling each other out. I was thinking of giving her a valentines day card like the ones you hand out in elementary school, as a funny joke. Please Help! Also any other advice would be much appreciated.
Some additional information: I'm a 22 year old male college student and she's a 20 year old college student. We haven't kissed.

Just do something simple like a card or a cheap stuff animal or even a candy bar. Doesn't have to be a big ass expensive box of chocolates or jewelry unless you want to, but I suggest work your way up to that. Then maybe go out to eat somewhere if you two have the cash. Other then that, I wouldn't go too fancy or anything, but definitely make it sweet and romantic. You may try to see if you can go in for the kiss or more depending on where both of you are, just feel it out as the day goes on.
As long as you show you're happy and that you put some effort into this she'll be happy.

Don't buy anything expensive. Since you are both feeling each other out I suggest something simple like a card or a plushie (the ones with funny valentine messages) and take your time choosing one that will make her both chuckle and feel amused. There are many available options under $15 that do the job just fine.
As you are progressing in your relationship you should lean more in making her something instead of buying it. Not only it saves money, but at the same time you make your present one of a kind and was made while thinking of her.

I think getting her an elementary school-type card is a good idea. It'd probably make her laugh, but it would also show that you're not ignoring the holiday or expecting to get laid simply because it's Valentine's Day. I wouldn't give her any other gifts though, only take her somewhere a little extra nice. Not French restaurant nice, but someplace better than where you two have been before. Just to show that you are making some effort, because the day is supposed to be special.
