Is it possible for my pc to be shut down because of a cooler
0
Well, my friend gave me 3 days ago a cooler that he didn't use anymore. So, i installed it, and put him inside my CPU. Today, while i was playing Witcher 2, it shut down once. I thought it was because of the game and stopped playing it. Now, 30 mins ago, i was just browsing in steam and it suddenly shut down again. Is it possible its because my motherboard can't handle 2 coolers or it is another factor? If it is the cooler, lowering his speed would solve the problem?

Let me see if i got it right. You put another cooler on top of the one already present on your CPU or you just swapped the old one with the one your friend gave you?
Anyway the pc shut down by himself when temperatures are too high to prevent damage to hardware. If you installed the new cooler it's possible that you did something wrong and the cooler is not working properly.

Data Zero
Valkyrie Forces CO
Usually it means something overheated and shut down and save itself from damage.

Here's a little update on the pc:
I went to my cousin house and he said it could be the RAM (i thought it was weird since, most of the time, problems with RAM ends up in blue screen). So he took off my 4gb RAM and put 2 RAMS of 4gb each, making my PC have 8gb of RAM. Since i changed it (3 days ago) it hasn't shut down out of nowhere but i still have my doubts. I discard the cooler thing now since he wasn't hot the times he shut down, so i was thinking it could be the PSU.
I'll post here again if it happens again, but for now it's all okay. Thanks for the help though, it's good to see people are willing to help ^^

Did you reapply thermal paste on the cpu? You can't reuse the one that is left so you need to clean the old paste off and apply the new paste.
