I watched the entire event. Very nice, and sparked some inspiration for some improvements to my own decks.
I really loved Kuo's deck, 'cus it's just my style. Control, control, control. Answers to absolutely everything the opponent may have. Love playing decks where your opponent basically has to ask for your permission to do anything.
And if I've learned anything from watching the entire thing, I learned that pros shuffle the cards in their hand a lot... Pretty amusing.
And about Return to Ravnica. Maybe this?:

Well, there's a release date and the prerelease date... Still not sure about preorders.

Usually it's closer to release date, when more spoilers have come out, once the set is about half spoiled, you see pre-orders go up.
also Life from the Loam, Isochron Scepter and Brainstorm are in the duel deck, they've also made legacy dredge alot more accessible
Wizards is blatantly asking for my bank information at this point.
Also, blink, meet AEther Vial

Aha, saw the list for the duel deck, too. Seems pretty nice.
Your thoughts on those new mechanics, overload and scavenge?
Hello there, Aether Vial. Oh, your a FTV member... very nice. Makes creatures basically free, basically have flash, and basically uncounterable.

Overload seems like it will wind up being unplayable so long as miracles/bonfire of teh damned are in standard, why would I pay RRXX and only get non-fliers when I could play bonfire and get every creature target player controls and target player himself, that and the miracle cost of it is insane.
Scavenge seems interesting, I hope the do more than make it Pay X: put counters on creature, otherwise, it seems like it will be good in limited (you killed my 5/5, oh well, I'll turn this 1/1 I have into a 6/6, go)

Well there's more to come, maybe there will be better cards for overload. At least, that one particular card we saw with overload probably won't see much play due to Bonfire being here.
It does, but it still seems it might be a vulnerable tactic. Counters can fall off easily.

None in standard, nor in limited (that we know of). It's fair to say the counters are there to stay until the creature dies.

Yeah that's likely. And I guess I might be overestimating bounce effects.

And I guess I might be overestimating bounce effects.Bounce is okay for combat tricks and what have you, but it isn't a permanent answer to a creature, in a format with scavenge (or against a deck with it), bounce would be decent as you can somewhat alleviate any pressure your opponent is putting on you.
I only know a little about limited mind, limited enviorment vs. Constructed enviorment is vastly different in term of card evaluation/power level, a 5/5 for 6 with trample is terrible in constructed but very playable in limited.
Of course then there is cube...

True, true... Clear the way, and the scavenged creature is exiled, so they won't be able to use that one again.
And I've never done cube before.

It's fun when done right, imagine limited with card power level of casual vintage/legacy, best of all, due to the nature of the format, you don't need a tournament legal card per se, making it very easy to acquire otherwise expensive cards.

Lol, sounds like a good time. You do it often?
Not often, for one, you need to find someone with enough cards to make one (seen cubes go from 300 to over 700 cards in them), and then you need enough people to actually have one (which is kind of a problem.
MTGO has a cube draft from time to time that I have been told is fun.

In short, unleash allows you to put a creature on the field with a +1/+1 counter, the caveat being that it can't block.
Creature is drudge skeleton (1/1 1B:Regenerate for 1B)
First impression of this mechanic is that I like it.

That watermark looks like Rakdos... That mechanic sounds like them, alright.
I like it, too. Have the option to give up defensive power for more offensive power.
EDIT: Huh... Got Simic for this guild quiz... Alternates being Azorius, Dimir, or Izzet.

Same here. Can't wait to see what's new in store that they'll add to the Return to Ravnica as well as old faves like Argus Kos and a just the whole block that made me start playing MtG.
Also, it seems like proliferating cards would go well with that card right there.

The Azorius Senate: Detain (basically theyre pacified for a turn)
The Izzet League: Overload (replaces target with each (not always a burn spell though apparently some affect you and are beneficial))
The Cult of Rakdos: Unleash (can either come into play reguraly or comes into play with a +1/+1 counter but cant block anymore)
The Golgari Swarm: Scavenge (pay whatever scavenge cost on card in graveyard exile it and then put x +1/+1 counters on a creature you control where x is the scavenged creatures power)
The Selesnya Conclave: Populate (put a token on the field thats a copy of another token)

Krenko, Mob Boss
teb: Put X 1/1 red Goblin creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is the number of Goblins you control.
Since I play goblin legacy, this card speeds up my game by a huge margin. I don;t play tournament, but I pretty much got all the standard card in a goblin legacy deck except the lands. Those dual lands are freaking expensive
