Hey guys quick question about Commander. Do you guys prefer playing with a Commander that is 3 colors or one that's only 2 colors? I can see 3 colors coming in real handy, and having flexibility than 2 colors, but 2 colors seems like they could win games faster due to them only needing 2 kinds of colors and not just 3.

It's really just based on your preference. You do have more flexibility with a three-color commander, but building a mana base with two-colors is a lot easier.

With two colors, you don't need much mana fixing at all, since you only have to worry about two colors, but once you get into three or more, you need a LOT of mana fixing. My three color commander decks' mana bases all needed to have over half the lands be dual, tri-color, or paradise (all color) lands, and you need to free up some room in the deck for mana fixing artifacts as well.

Figuring out the mana base for a monocolored deck is super easy at least.

And I do believe the speed of your deck is dependant on how you build it. My friend's uncle's 5-color Sliver EDH deck can get crazy quite fast. Commander is a late-game format, you want things that benefit you when the game starts going long.

Although I have those freaking ugly dual lands in my binder, I don't use them. They are JUST. SO. UGLY.

Those original duals are sought after though. Those duals are around 90 each from what I've seen. If that's what you're talking about.

Those cards on that link are really goddamn nice though. I'm loving the Homura especiallly, since my next EDH deck will be built around him.

Yes, as far as I know a lot of people want them but the spiral in the text box and the art... ugh.
I have a professional printer and a whole box of blank cards so they feel exactly like the real ones, just with a waaaay better art.

You can use oversized cards in EDH right? Damn, that Homura would look fantastic oversized

You can use an oversized card for your EDH General, but you don't have to, and you need a regular sized version of the card in case your general becomes shuffled in your library for any reason.

EDIT: ROFL, I just noticed the Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Art looks pretty wicked, but I love how they shortened his abilities to the actual cards those abilities represent.

I know right? When my friends saw them after I printed them (I guess no permission required because their name is in the card) they were like "Holy crap that looks amazing".

Concerning commissions, I'm not really sure. I just found that link when I was searching if there are any Underground Seas that looks at least something that I can describe as decent. I check that link quite often for updates.

Oh so you can make yourself these cards in a good physical form? Goddamn I'm jealous, lol.

Hmm, yup. Same look, thickness, quality, everything except the backing is a smiley face that I made with my name in it. I also only do that on alters because I would hate for someone to get it, sell it and make profit from it. I can make a deck of 60 in 20-60 minutes. (researching what a certain card looks like takes time)
But usually, I just borrow cards from my cousin.

I just finished printing my tokens and everyone that sees it drops their jaw.
Goblin, Angel, Human, Soldier, Zombie, Knight tokens. 20 of each, all altered.

My opponent used Slaughter games at my Entreat the Angels (which is my only wincon)

I was able to activate my Tamiyo's ultimate ability. After a few turns, I only have 1 card in my library. When I draw that card, I'm still in the game right? But will I lose if I activate Thought scour?

The deckout loss occurs when you are required to draw for any reason (your own Draw step, an effect like thought scour that requires you to draw, etc) but can't, due to having no cards left in your library to draw.

EDIT: Forgot to answer the first question. Yes, you'd still be in the game if you have no more cards left in your library, as long as you aren't required to draw from it for any reason.

I have 2 questions. On the tokens, do you have the artist name that was originally on the card, or do you somehow get the artist of the new pics name on it?

Secondly, I don't belive you sell, do you?

Question 1, yes I have their name IF I can find it. All the Angel tokens have the name of their artist in the artist section of the card. If I can't find it, just like most of the Goblins, I just write the company name of where I got the picture or just my name if there really is no artist (I did turn them into cards). If there is no artist, I just consider it as a public property then.

Question 2, Nope. I do not sell. Although, I do make some of my close friends some cards depending on my mood. Sometimes for free, sometimes for cards or a treat.

It's just a gift. 'Tis a "reward" from my cousin because I started playing Magic. I get to keep it if I win a Magic tournament no matter how minor the tournament is.(doesn't matter what kind it is)

Okay so with the artist name, is it something you can alter on a card that has already been altered? I ask this because I have someone who does alters for me, but she has not change the artist's name. I was wondering if that is something she could go back and do.
