Hmm... I knew it... I should have won that round.
Well, That's that. At least I still enjoyed it. Rakdos decks are really annoying. Too much removal.
Good thing Rakdos really finds it hard to deal with Alpha Authority...
Thanks for the answer.

It looks as though it's not a Standard deck, so you have even less restrictions...
So, if you want to beat them by turning your creatures sideways all day, I'd suggest more haste creatures. Basically, turn your deck into a Red-Black version of "Red-Deck-Wins" (a deck that just has creatures, burn spells, and lands; Nothing else). Also, lowering the mana curve might help you achieve that goal, though I notice you have Rakdos, which seems helpful.
I don't think you want Malicious Intent or Unhallowed Pact in this deck. Malicious Intent isn't a good card, and Unhallowed Pact I don't think fits with what you're trying to do that much.
Also, if you want to be this aggresive, I'd suggest replacing your removal with more efficient burn spells, like Searing Spear or something. Annihilating Fire and Augur Spree cost too much for their roles.

I'm not a player myself, although I do know how to play and such, since my boyfriend is a huge player. I do attend FNM's and tournaments with him though, I do think it's a cool game though ^^ !

Does WotC really hate combo decks in Modern that badly? Understandably, Egg Decks took forever and a day to play, but damn, one of the reasons I was looking into playing Modern was Combo decks. Now that Storm and Eggs got nerfed, I really can't find a reason to play Modern anymore besides looking at playing Jund.

Now that Storm and Eggs got nerfed, I really can't find a reason to play Modern anymore besides looking at playing Jund.Well, WOTC seemed to make it clear with Eggs that it's an extremely long deck to play, and that when players take too long with it in extra turns, it messes up the entire tournament.
Also, they wanted to ensure Modern was a fair environment, not wanting consistent turn 4 combo kills, or something close to that.
All this said... Yeah, Modern's getting boring now... Combo decks are proof of people's creativity making decks, and a lot of them are getting screwed over. Plus, lots of combo decks are budget, which is nice for players like me who don't have big enough budgets for top tier decks, which, in a funny way, are usually weak to "unfair" decks like these combo decks.
At least, the deck is not completely dead, but is now much worse. Eggs has been around since before Faith's Reward, so it only had 4 Second Sunrise it needed to find before M13, making it even harder to play, but now we're back to those days, except the card we're looking for (Faith's Reward), is kind of worse in ways.
By the way, there's still a Storm deck. I play it. It's kind of atypical and inconsistent comparatively, but still pretty fun.

As of right now, I'm trying out a Combo Deck in Standard. Here it is :
Uses cards that give you tokens and by using Battle Hymn to get mana and Past in Flames to Flashback everything, you can combo into a big Burn at the Stake kill. Not as consistent as in Modern Combo Decks, but I find it real fun to play.

I think I read about a similar looking combo deck. It seems fragile, but funny. If you've already tested it, tell me how well it works, because I wanted to try something similar.
Apparently there was a way to make a psuedo-Eggs deck in this Standard format, too, as well as a psuedo-High Tide deck, too. People are finding funny combos that seem to work.
Meanwhile, I've been rebuilding a Standard deck I'm finally going to become serious about: Bant Lifegain. It already seems pretty consistent so far, but I've only tested it against my friend's Naya midrange so far.
My list:
Spoiler:
Sideboard:
Spoiler:
Also, I wanted to post my friend's Naya deck, simply because it's the coolest variant I've seen of Naya so far.
I only know his mainboard, though. I forgot the entirety of his sideboard. Also, I might be wrong about his exact mana base.
His list:
Spoiler:
I love it just because he has so many different kinds of "Nut Draws" with Infernal Plunge, a card he says that he's shocked that no one plays.
EDIT: Remembered he had two maindeck Skullcrak in his list now... Can't remember what he cut for them.

I would've preferred they ban faith's reward instead, Second Sunrise affects all players (not just you), meaning you actually have to deal with hate cards (IE Tormod's Crypt, the enchantment you sack to deal 2 damage etc), whereas faith's reward affects only the caster.
My problem with the banning is that it rewards people who instead of doing the logical (and smart thing) and scoop when there is literally no way for them to fizzle, they sit there and stubbornly refuse to scoop. When eggs is on their 3rd/4th loop, scoop, you cannot win in turns, Eggs can.
Playing against Junk rites with UWR Flash in standard, is a exercise in futility it seems.

Thanks for the advise, I'll try to find cards like that at my local game store when I get paid. Oh and I am also confused about what kinda deck I should build around Kresh the Bloodbraided. I was thinking the green being ramp, black being assassins, and red being buffs....?

Now that you mention it, that makes sense. You do indeed help your opponent if they have the counter pieces to your combo when you cast Sunrise over Reward.
Some do, I've noticed. I heard during a broadcast that even in a feature match, a player told his opponent "Show me three Second Sunrises, and I'll concede". That said, the judge still made him play out the game when they're match was featured at one point, but only up until he found the wincon (in this case, Pyrite Spellbomb).
That's a crazy deck. A bunch of decks don't have good matchups, apprently. Lots of midrange and control players where I play, and it seems none can really combat it. I've never needed to face it yet, but I doubt my current deck (RUG Midrange) can stand up to it.

Ah, Jund colors. You get lots of good options. Red and green give you aggresive creatures, while black allows you to use more than just your mana as a resource. With Kresh, I would just say to load your deck with powerful creatures, then have lots of ways to kill things, since Kresh always gets bigger when anything (including your own stuff) dies.

That's odd, I know judges (for all intents and purposes) cannot make you concede, one would think the reverse is true.
Yeah I'd play test against it, the deck is stupid good, it's like jund in that it has almost no bad matchups, but unlike jund, it has several positive ones.

Erm, yeah, I worded that wrong. My bad.
I meant, once their match was on camera, the judge told both players that if the Eggs player started comboing off, they play it out, so the viewers can witness the combo. Because otherwise, the non-Eggs player wasn't one of the stubborn people, he was the logical one, as you said: he'll concede the moment he senses his opponent can't fizzle.
That's pretty crazy. Yeah, I need to get a "stock" list right away to test against, then.

So, my first pre-release was really fun. Even though all the cards were in Italian, I still got to remember the list enough to where I could remember what each one does. I've placed within the Top 4 going with the Boros/Azorious Guilds. Pulled some nice rares, especially a holo Legion's Initiative. Overall satisfying night.

Will be going to my prerelease at noon today (still several hours from now).
That seems pretty sweet though. I see an Aetherling which I really like, hope to pull and trade for those for a Standard deck (I think it's powerful). And you got that awesome Gruul Hydra.
Very nice getting Top 4, too. So, your partner guild ended up being Azorius. Red-White-Blue did seem pretty good in limited. How was your Sealed Deck, by the way?
EDIT: And I get there with a Bant (WUG) aggro deck, choosing Simic and having Selesnya as my allied guild (just what I wanted =D). 3-1. Only one rare in the deck, too (A Loxodon Smiter), but it was all I needed. The deck curved out well, and consistently. My other rares were Guild Champions that were not in my colors, rofl.
I'm upset that cockatrice got taken down, though... I really wanted to test some new deck ideas I had with the coming of Dragon's Maze.

My Sealed Deck was decent. I got quite a few good uncommons, especially for the colors that I was running. Boro Elite, Mastiff, Skyknight, Riot Piker, and a few others as my cheap drops. The highest on my curve was AEtherling and Jelenn Sphinx.
Unfortunately, I really didn't get any removal spells besides Warleader's Helix and Leyv Decree, and that's was on my Sealed Deck's weakness, which ended me losing the top 4 match. Still went 4-1 out of the 5-round robin for the pre-release before the top 4, so I'm content with that.

Ooooh, not bad. Yeah, that Piker is quite good... Lost badly to one with Madcap Skills... Did you also get that one 2/2 haste guy for 3, the one where it's a 4/4 the turn you play it (forgot its name)?
That was the problem with my deck, too. I think I literally had one removal spell: the instant-speed Prey Upon (forgot the name of that one, too). To make up for it, I just had a bunch of protection spells to keep my aggresive creatures alive.

Vashinino-something? Yes I did. Paired with my Legion's Initiative, he was so good. Twice he can become a 4/4. Also helped when I had the 2 drop that returns creatures to their hand when she gets played. Also paired with Legion's Initiative was real good for a small spot removal.

Nice. Legion's Initiative seems like quite the card, too. It can turn a Wrath into a Plague Wind if you need it to.
So many cards I want to build around in this set... A bunch of the Champions seem great for EDH. That planeswalker seems so fun and good. Same with AEtherling... The Blood Baron of Vizkopa fits perfectly into my new Standard deck.
