You don't like Gatecreeper Vine? But then again, compared to what you'd have to take out (probably Urban Evolution), he ain't that great...It seems like it'd be such a dead draw in a lot of situations. Maze's End does its job better I think, and the body isn't very meaningful.
And, yeah, there's nothing I would remove in the deck for a card that seems bad.

I just now found this thread? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
Didn't bother reading any of the posts, but anyone else think thragtusk is bullshit?
Also, slivers are being reprinted, MTG is slowly going back to the days of everything being broken.

Thragtusk is quite the card, indeed. Perfectly beatable, though.
Slivers are beatable, too... except now they're not global, so you can't use your opponent's Slivers' effects against them (I heard that they say "Slivers you control..." as opposed to "All slivers...")

You mean "Swag-tusk"? He's still very good within the meta for standard, but as of right now, here's a few cards of the top of my head that can counter Thrag :
Turn // Burn (Self-explanatory)
Boros Reckoner (First Strike, or just hit back your opponent with Reckoner Trigger)
Far // Away (Bounce Thrag, make opponent sac the Beast after Far resolves)
Skullcrack (Stops lifegain from Thrag)
Any counter spells (preferably Plasm Capture, Rewind, and Dissipate).
Silvers are annoying, but easy to get around to. The only format that I find that has trouble against them is EDH/Commander. If you don't have a Wraith, you can not win.
*EDIT*
Also, for the GPT, I went 2/3 in the Round Robin with my UWR deck. Won my matches against Bant Hexproof and Jund Midrange, and lost against to Naya Blitz, Bant Flash, and UWR Control.

Who did you find to be the hardest one to play with? Also, just out of curiosity and if you don't mind me asking, the times that you lost, did you lose or did you just get mana screwed?
Anyone here play Commander?
My friend wanted me to play EDH with her so she gave me a sealed commander deck and told me to modify it if I want.
I had a little bit of time today so I tried to modify it. I must say, it is hard. She said I should avoid single target creature removals if possible. So I did, I added a lot of boardwipes. She also said, add big creatures because games might probably be long, so again, I did. I also added a few mana ramps, counters and draw cards and artifacts.
The problem is, I'm way over 99 now. I just can't decide what to remove...

With the cards available you can gain over 20 life with thragtusk in a single turn. On top of that you would get 4+ beast tokens as well.

Capturing God: Skullcrack. Stops that 20 life shenanigans. Besides, it sounds like you need a lot to go right for that to occur.
saka: Bant Flash? I may have heard of that... but remind me what kind of creatures it played? I do believe it topped out at AEtherling, ran Plasm Captures, and maybe Yeva.
kicki: First of all, who's your commander?
Second, yes, the advice you were given is good. You want boardwipes over spot removal and late-game creatures because commander is a late-game format. There are still exceptions, though. If your colors support them, exile removal is still good (like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares), in fact, its favorable, because there's lots of graveyard tricks people like using. You also want maindeck artifact or enchantment removal in case your opponents have something wacky you need to deal with (like my deck: mostly artifacts). And I'm not a big fan of counterspells in EDH, unless they're like Hinder, which can screw with your opponent.

My commander is Riku of Two Reflections. Aside from because he was in the box, I like his ability. Provided I have the mana, I can copy a lot of stuff.
I only have three counterspells. Plasm Capture, Spell Crumple and Dissipate. Four if you count Draining Whelk.
I'm thinking of adding Burning wish and removing Destructive Force. I think it is nice having an option to choose what boardwipe I should get. If I'm about to lose, might as well activate Apocalypse.
I also wanted to add Jhoira so I can suspend+board wipe, but I feel that it is kinda an overpowered and nut fun way to play.
Right now, the ones that I really wanted to add are Empress Galina, Dominus of Fealty,Sphinx Ambassador, Unexpected Results, Gather Specimens and Obliterate or Apocalypse. I really want to hard cast Ulamog then Obliterate everyone. That should be fair and fun.
Right now my deck is below.

Its good you're thinking of your friends and making something fun, as opposed to powerful, lol. Some of the guys at my shop, despite being fun-loving guys, still have some pretty broken decks...
I'm actually not sure exactly how to fix up your deck, so I just have suggestions for additions that sound sweet:
I think that in your deck, since you care about your creatures more than other decks, you'd actually want less boardwipes, I think.
Hinder is a good counterspell in your deck. It's exactly like Spell Crumple, but with better art, lol. But having two of that effect is great, since you can counter their commander and down to the bottom of the deck it goes, ROFL.
Also, Spin into Myth and Void Stalker are good spot removal cards because they shuffle into deck rather than killing them, which is an excellent way to get rid of an opponent's commander.
Finally, Phyrexian Ingestor sounds perfect in a Riku deck: exile the two best creatures your opponents control, and get two gigantic killers.
In the end, its your call where you want to go with your deck, because commander is a casual format, and you just need to make it as fun as possible for yourself.

Hardest one is always the Mirror Matches. UWR vs. UWR comes down to "who can get their Shpinx's Revelation to get cast first".
Naya Blitz was the second one. You really can't do anything against a Turn One Champion of the Parish, Turn Two Burning Tree, Burning Tree, Lightning Mauler, Turn Three Mayor, swing and win.

They run AEtherling, Advent of the Wurm, Voice of Resurgence, Resto Angel, Snapcaster, Rewind, Sphinx, Farseek, Dissipate, Azorious Charm, and pretty much Flash everything that they have besides Voice and AEtherling, and by that point they either have a lot of Wurm Tokens, or Elementals from Voice.

Nothing more fun than watching a Sphinx's Revelation mirror match... *end sarcasm*
I think it's more like who misses the first land drop, though. Something that small can matter in a match where its all about small advantages.
Naya is pretty crazy, though I think Jund aggro is scarier.
Ahh, that's right. Yeah, I liked that deck. Bant Flash.

American Control seems really boring to play, but god it's so frustrating, all control decks are.
Isn't there something we can play together round robin style? Cockatrice got pwnt.

If you are on right now, let me know! I'll play anyone that's here. Skype is also preferred too.
Since Oracle is down for the site, you'll have to update the card and token database manually. It should be on the Server Page when you log in for instructions on how to update manually.

So, after the games with Blink and Barte, I've been extensively playing Naya Blitz. I've got to say, it's sickening to see it work so well @_@. Especially with a good hand.
Lost very little games with it so far. Just so GROSS to see how much damage it does when you get the right hand, and draw the right amount of creatures. Doing 14 on turn 2 is so nice, but so gross to see.
