getting back into yugioh? alot of people are leaving that game to play cardfight vanguard. in fact probably about %80 of vanguard's player base are yugioh players/ex-yugioh players (at least that what i hear from one of my friends, whose i assume knows what he's talking about, seeing as he's a card dealer).

@gurall: i'd be find with that if the people who pull epic weren't always the people that already were smug douches beforehand.

I follow Cardfight Vanguard ever since the anime,no one else had cards around here(Weiss Schwarz too) so I had no one to play with,glad it's picking up.

you play weiss schwarz, convenit? i would pick it up myself, but i'm skeptical about it taking off in my area. i might pick up vangaurd when the pale moon clan comes out, seeing as quite a few people play vanguard around here.

but man, that new lilianna is $25!? i'd feel like tool buying it now, cuz it's obviously gonna drop like a rock in price...

That may not be as true as You, I and others may have thought, Mono-Black Control has been making some buzz as of late, and she plays great with mutilate and black sun's zenith. She's still gonna drop probably.

Oh Vanguard... I'm really into that, too, but the cards are hella expensive. Perfect guards, must haves in any competitive deck, are always at least 10 bucks a pop, and for the more competitive clans, up to 20 bucks, so that's already a ton going to just 4 cards.

On topic... Went to a prerelease yesterday. Did poorly, only won one match. Was playing WUB, which may have been my problem. Was color-screwed on more than one occasion. I was also playing a full deck of 60 cards. =P

i know, but in order to incorporate all the cards i wanted to play, i had to bump it up to 60. xP
In retrospect, wasn't a smart move. Should've just cut the white altogether... As good as it could've worked, not enough mana fixing made it hard to make it work.

yeah the average vanguard deck i hear goes for $200 :/

going W/U in sealed events has yet to fail me. my last event went mediocre at best simply because my azurious pool sucked horribly. but WUB? come on blinkpoke, you of all people shoulda known to just blue/white control those fools, lol! i guess ur black pool was pretty tempting. like gurrall said, 40 cards should be all you need. but hey, you'll have another chance this weekend (i'll have to work again...).

yeah, even though mono-black control is good, i don't see the new lilly that useful, not $25 useful. not in standard. (but she'll be 5w33t in edh, but let's hope they don't realize that until after they sink her price heh heh)

I played U/W dudes as well, flying dudes and hope I hit one of my bombs, either stormtide leviathan or Sublime Archangel, whom is a shark....with two dicks....and she will bite yours off and rape your mom/spouse/waifu/significant other with it.

Anyone play the new Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013? It's pretty fun to me, and I'm grateful for some improvements made on it (like tapping mana the way you want). Pretty funny, too. I milled the last boss, Nicol Bolas, to death. It was glorious. Milled his best cards, even after dropping so many moxes on me.

gurall: Awwww I hella wanted a Sublime Archangel. It's just what I need to finally start repurposing one of my decks.

nosebleed: My black was pretty good. Usually get fairly good cards that I feel I'd need to use in limited. Went blue as well, since it's blue; can't go wrong. The white was there to try to use exalted as a secondary strategy, as well as some additional control elements. The plan was to have many options available to me... Again, color-fixing was the problem that prevented all that from working... Only had one dual-land to help with it...

i kinda wanted a sublime archangel before. but now due, to this description, i must have one, lol. unfortunately i've been told that she and the new ajani are two that'll be money cards, probably cuz they'll roll people's faces off in standard.

but yeah, U/W is always a wise choice. it always has the aggro/control mix you'll need in sealed.

Meh, I spent most of the time wishing I was in G/W,G/W/R,or R/W. The control I had was underwhelming (Woo Unsummon), and the best U creature I had that didn't simply win the game was Storm Drake :/, least in G I could've had the 3/3 hexproof dude. Limited tends to favor creature based strategies, counter all you want, it means zilch if you can't answer the Hydra that is about to smash your face in.

counters are nice i guess, but the bounce effects are were it's at. that and all the white weenies/flyers and blue flyers.

G/W is U/W's biggest problem, because U/W has to answer just about everything G/W plays. but U/W handles everything else well enough. at least for me.

but yeah, if i'm not going U/W i'm going G/W. the only time i didn't is the last prerealease. i went B/G/W (simply not enough good stuff in white or green,so i had to stuff black in there...didn't go to well....)

Counters waste your opponents mana. It's fun to see an opponent think they've got you right where they want you and you stop it. Makes them play a lot more carefully from then on.

Mana leak, I'll miss you... I'll make do with Essense Scatter and Negate while I wait eagerly for your return!

I've got a nice Zombie deck, a Sliver deck, and an all out Artifact control deck. ^^

Zombies... don't like playing against... They just kep coming and coming...
Silvers... even worse than Zombies. My friend's uncle's Sliver EDH deck dominates.

For Zombies, Karona, False God. Only because I can't have Phage the Untouchable as my General. B)

I'm in the process of building a Green Deck that has Omnath, Locus of Mana as it's General.

Lolol Karona. That's a funny card to me. One of my friend's used it in a Planechase game.
Of course. Gotta have a Sliver Legend to lead a sliver army.
Aaaaaand that seems hard... Seems like it'd be difficult to build a colorless EDH deck, at least for me. It's why I chose Sen Triplets. More colors, more options. Was gonna make the General Memnarch, but wanted to other colors.

Actually, the only thing that made the colorless deck difficult to build was the lands. lol. ^^
And speaking of my Artifact deck, I'm only missing 4 of the cards, either because of price or availability. I'm missing Wasteland, Grim Monolith, Mind's Eye and Vedalken Orrery. I also have the Eldrazi in the deck as well. Can never go wrong with indestructable creatures that auto destroy enemy cards when they attack. lol. ^^


Might I ask, what's your opinion on MtG going back to Ravnica in the next set? Do you think they will bring back Niv Mizzet?

That actually was what I was wondering about: The lands... Though now that I think of it, there are plently of utility lands that tap for colorless.

I'm really hoping for the shocklands to come back as well. Many of my friends think Wizards will, since the new core set has many cards that involve lands with the basic land types ("Untap target Forest", "Search your library for a Swamp", etc.).
