Hola, any martial artist and if so what style. and why did you start. Also no bashing styles here as martial artist we should help uplift our common martial brother/sisterhood. No matter what background or nationality all style are unique and effective.(Depending on your diligence, tutelage etc)

I did the 'beginners' course for Thai Boxing, was pretty exciting and fun, but i stopped doing it once it became the time to buy all the expensive gear and stuff. Plus i am pretty lazy when it comes to exercise.

LOl but thats the joy of it especially the training and your progress you made from your hard wrok( though the expenses do suck) but hell is what it is. Plus form my self my goal is to be able to destroy tanks with my fist. I know its unrealistic but i still strive for it. well that and protecting those that i love and because i enjoy fighting.

Did Ju-Jutsu for 8 years and Kung Fu Tao for 3, until I eventually hurt my back so bad I was forced to stop. Shucks.
Started when I was 8, it was a fun thing to do that wasn't playing football with the other kids (Which I still did for like another 4 years.) since I never really liked it.

I did a little Krav Maga. Well, I'm planning on doing OCS, so it seems like a reasonable trade to learn.

When I was younger, two karate disciplines, Shitoryu and kyokushin.
Started those because I just thought it was fascinating and a good way to get in shape. I stopped a long time ago although I still train the same way, I learned a bit of Muay Thai for its use of the 8 limbs aswell.

Just posting in this thread in inform people that might be interested in watching Bas Rutten's commentary on his own fights(wins and losses). He started uploading them to his youtube channel. Only three have been uploaded so far, but more to come.

[color=#993300]MMA(as a kid for boxing), Taichi (Yes, this is a martial art, highly defensive), and Goju-ryu (a descendent of Fujian White Crane and similar to Hung Ga [Earthbending]). Though I do really want to learn Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm) completely, I only know a bit and love incorporating it into my sparring.
So basically, I've listed my knowledge in Earth, Water, and a bit of Airbending. The important part is being able to mix them. The one important thing I learned from MMA, other than being able to box (which I'm trying to mix with Northern Shaolin [Firebending]) is the ability to fight while down on the ground, thats one thing most styles dont teach.
