MP4 conversion for DVD player

A friend of mine wants a copy of Frozen, so I snagged a (1080p) torrent of it, but then it occurred to me that they may not be able to play it. Is there a way I can convert it to make sure it will play on anything?

If he has a usb connection on it then mp4 will work or torrent ConvertXtoDVD which look good if there no soft subs with it.
Most computer comes with some dvd maker program but usually won't work with mkv.

Honestly if you just tell him/her to download VLC or something that would be a much more elegant solution (even given how bad I think VLC is). Open their eyes a bit eh?

Thanks, ConvertXtoDVD worked. For some reason the disc didn't play on an old DVD player, but it worked just fine on an Xbox 360, showed up with the title on my laptop and worked in a newer DVD player.
