Name for Gaming Magazine
Gaming Magazine Name?
0
Hey fellow Fakkuers,
I'm doing a school project on creating a hypothetical magazine business from scratch. I've already decided to do a gaming magazine, specifically to help novice players get better. However I'm having a difficult time deciding on a name for the magazine. Please choose from the few I've come up with or, if you've got a better name, offer your input.

Instead of focusing on "Noob" which can be tossed around as an insult normally, why not just go with something direct like "Gaming101" (Insinuating the basics) or "Gaming411" (or insinuating information)

Sure, if your make-believe magazine publication goes famous, just remember who helped you out :P

When finished (if I don't forget) I'll post results.

I agree with Brittany most people take noob as an insult. I think Gaming 101 or Gaming 411 are great names and that you should go with one of them.

If you wanted to stick to the "noob" name, you could try replacing noob with "Newbie".

Stage 1.
Simple, can apply to most any kind of game, and easily implies a beginner's stage.

How about "Start" ?Or '"Press Start" a wordplay with title screens and publishing.

I don't find it particularly offensive but the whole noob thing just doesn't sound right for a publication. I'll throw out some random ideas (sorry in advance if any of them make you cringe).

"You Died" monthly. You can do articles exclusively on the Souls series. I'd buy that for a dollar.

Like this real/official Press Start Button ?
I would rather suggest "Games start!" or "Start games!", something like that.
Other possibilities :
Fun start!
New world gamer
Games trigger
The Video Begamner

Cruz
Dope Stone Lion
None of those seem appealing to me in the slightest. Then again, I'm not someone just getting into "gaming". Personally, something relatively simple but straight forward would be the best ideally. A bit of flair, acknowledgement/references aren't bad, just don't push it.

Only stupid marketing people who look at old internet slang and think it's relevant and not cringe inducing would use that or any form of "l33t hax0r" speak.
