I'm a Laker fan living in Dallas (My family loves the mavericks, we have season tickets). Because of this, I hate the mavericks, since I'm surrounded by Mavs fans that are cussing at me.
The mavericks lost Tyson Chandler; they won't do much this season unless they find a way to replace him.
The lakers had a rough start with kobe's wrist and Bynum's suspension, but they're doing ok. They might be old, but they're certainly capable of winning another championship, as long as this compressed season doesn't wear on them

I play Fantasy Basketball so I root for my players to pull stats. But I have been a fan of the Thunders since 4 years ago and still am. Only concern is that Westbrook doesn't know who the leading scorer on the team is. Other than that, Thunders got a solid squad and that is why they are leading the West standings. BTW: Rockets making Playoffs!! Kyle Lowry is dope

Speaking of the mid-range game and long jumpers, it's been going down on regularity for us as we've done a good job for the most part this season at moving the ball from side to side and getting open shots.
And we've got this kid, Nic Vucevic who has been our Norris Cole(that is to say, he's stepped in and played excellent basketball). He's learned game by game, step by step but he's playing much more physical, much more confident a great weak-side defender.
I wish this game was on ESPN or something, just to show those pundits we're for real. After that 90-76 thrashing of the Hawks, we're ready for just about any team in the league.

anybody catch the end of that clippers/twolves game? first rubio hits a miracle 3 to tie then k-love @ the buzzer FTW! doesn't get better than that.

I thought he couldn't shoot? Stupid analysts don't know a thing. Kevin Love is playing the best basketball as a PF in the league right now. Dirk is still the man, but Kev Love is playing the best.
And what the hell happened to the Knicks? I'll tell you. Two words: Carmelo Anthony. There might be a reason he's only been out of the first round once in his entire career. He can't play with other stars. Wade has shown he can win with another star, Lebron is a pass happy player like Magic so its not a problem for him, Durant can win with Westbrook, Kobe can win with Pau. So why can't Carmelo win with Amare? Its baffling.

Denver has been doing much better since they got rid of him, and the Knicks have been doing worse since they acquired him. Amare's the one who brought the knicks from being at the bottom of the conference to being a playoff contender, yet the announcers always say "Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks vs...", as if Carmelo was the star of the team.

aww yea. Bulls are 15-3. problems still persist, and the losses are heavy indicators. but at least they haven't been as glaringly obvious as they were in the East Finals last year.
those T-Wolves, though. i tip my hat my hat to Ricky Rubio and K-Love. those guys are making magic happen.

Do you see how much of a pathetic organization the Knicks are? I just heard that the Knicks and the Magic are talking about trading Dwight Howard for Amare and Tyson Chandler. Are you fucking serious? They just signed Chandler this year, and Amare is in his 2nd year of his deal. And now they wanna bail on them? No blame goes to Carmelo. Unbelievable. This is why an organization can't be run based on what the fans want. Unbelievable.

the knicks are a disaster, yes they didn't have 'melo on the lineup (tonight) but i don't think that would've made a difference. although they did give the heat something of a game. 'bron and d-wade were putting on a show and the nuggets are SO mouch better off w/o 'melo. 14-5 the nuggets are! good riddance to bad rubbish lol

Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard are one and the same. As a Sixers fan I got to watch DH12 tonight and see if it really was his team-mates bailing out on him.
No, Dwight still doesn't have a post move in the NBA. Dwight's 6'11, 260 and that's about it. Dwight is the Melo of centers, because of his size and strength he doesn't "need" a post move, in that half of the league couldn't guard him. Dwight apparently doesn't care for that other half as we used a multitude of bodies: Brand, Battie, Allen(He's quickly becoming our Reggie Evans. Loving the kid) to contest him, to hit him and to force him into difficult shots.
If Howard had a mid-range 8-10 footer to speak of, he'd be a much more efficient offensive player but he didn't attempt a single jumper last night. And Howard can't even produce off the double-team being a below average passer in the post.
Dwight Howard is frankly, over-rated. If the Knicks think Dwight Howard is going to propel them(or if ANY team thinks a cancer of Howard's caliber is going to propel anybody), feel free to waste their resources.
If the Magic get Stoudemire AND Chandler for Howard, that's a ripoff in the favor of the Magic by ten and a half miles.
Don't get me wrong, the Magic wing-men are ball-dominate by their nature there isn't much cutting off the offense and there isn't really a true PG to run the offense but even so, if Howard were a truly dominate big man none of that matters.
He isn't a dominate big man, he has the stats but for once I have to disagree with Coach Collins: Howard COULD be a Russell, but he isn't one. He could be a Shaq, but he isn't one. He's the Penny Hardaway of bigs, solid all-star but when it comes down to the clutch he can be neutralized.
I remember back in the 2009 Finals, when they had Anthony Johnson and Courtney Lee and their wing play was much better. Andrew Bynum BY HIMSELF completely neutralized Howard and gave him fits in that series.
There are rumors the Sixers are inquiring into Stoudemire and I think that'll be a great opportunity for us. Brand's more of a bench big at this point in his career and we can slide him into Young's role no problem.
Sixers trade: Thad Young, Lou Williams, Andres Nocioni,Craig Brackins, a future first.
Knicks trade: A-STAT.
I would either like a shotblocking big or a post big, Stoude fulfills the second requirement as with his athleticism and mid-range jumper he easily spreads the floor for other teams, imagining him cutting the lanes with Hawes on the high post is just a sexy wet dream.
Imagining having a guy who can really command a double-team and a pick and roll PG like Jrue Holiday and a 3pt shooter in Jodie Meeks.
Stoude would really open up alot of things for us although losing Young and Williams would hurt a bit. But it might open up more minutes for Evan Turner to be the primary ball handler and getting more production from ET. Kid has talent and has the size to be a 1 or a 2.

Most of the "amazing" dunks are when someone dunks over a guy who's drawing a charge; Posey clearly fouled him, yet Griffen still slammed it over him

Your viewpoint is very interesting. I don't get to see the 76ers much, but they are the leaders in the Atlantic Division so far. Getting Amare would be an upgrade over Brand and I think he'd mesh well with them. Though the Knicks getting more shoot first guards isn't what they need right now.
I disagree with you on Dwight Howard. Regardless of whether or not he's dominant on offense, he is a dominant BIG. Meaning he always gets 12 boards a game, 3 blocks a game, several dunks a game, and more often than not commands a double team in the post. If he isn't the only star on his team, who knows how he'll play. I think he'll be deadly in the right situation more so than now. If he's on a team where he doesn't need to be the 4th quarter guy, he will play his best basketball. When the Magic went to the finals, it was Hedo that was the 4th quarter guy and contributed to the team's success. He needs someone to take over late because he can't hit a freethrow if they foul him.

What the Knicks need is a rebuilding package, that trade will free up 11 million within two years and give you a high caliber hybrid power forward in Thaddeus Young, a project and a first round pick. Great value IMO for Stat.
So Dwight Howard is Tyson Chandler? He's a more lean and athletic Tyson Chandler. That's fine and good and ideally you'd want shot blocking and post defense from your big I'm not taking away anything from that.
But for Howard to act the way he's acted over the past few weeks in the media and his entitlement attitude, I expect him to be a franchise big.
Shaq had the size, the athleticism and the skills. He just didn't have the desire. Howard has the size and the athleticism, he doesn't have the skills OR the desire.
That's why I agree with Shaq: Howard ain't Shaq, Howard isn't anything close to Shaq. Howard's simply the best of a mediocre NBA front-court. Which hopefully will get better with this big man draft class coming up and young kids like Griffin and Jordan.
If Howard became a 60% free throw shooter, Orlando would be a much better team. If he learned how to pass out of the double-team, Orlando would be a better team. If he acquired a turn-around jumper(or jump hook), they'd be a better team.
