Perspectives on Sadists and Masochists?
0
Hello, this has been bothering me for awhile .....
what are the thoughts that "normal people" have on sadists and masochist ?
please feel free to share your thoughts as i am open minded towards this short of discussion...
FYi
I have been a sadist since a very young age ....
The first time i released my sadistic desires is when im 5 years old....this is my story.....
I used to have a neighbor that had this hamster that they would keep in a hamster cage outside their house ( i live in a apartment in singapore and people often put things outside their apartments / flats as we call it ) . As a child i did not know if my actions were wrong or weird in any way and i would often torture my neighbor's hamster by spraying it with water from a bottle that i brought to nursery school . After some periods of torture using water , the hamster died , i had a sense of excitement . I dont know why i had such a weird thought towards the dead hamster and why i would be happy at the point as i was still a child. As i grew up my sadistic desires grew . i do not wish to continue my story here but if you are intrested please feel free to let me know in this thread.
i might need to see a psychiatrist LOL

I'm first going to address you personally. It is not normal nor is it healthy to feel pleasure out of torturing and killing animals in this particular fashion. This can be an indicator of further sociopathic behavior and you should talk to someone about this immediately. Furthermore this is also animal abuse/cruelty and for the love of god don't go near anymore animals, you will be caught and you will be reported if people find out. As a medical professional I am going to highly recommend seeing a therapist for something like this because again these actions are not normal.
This form of sadism termed zoosadism should not be confused with the sexual form of sadism called sadomasochism. Sadomasochism or BDSM is the consensual form of sexual relations between both parties; one is the S and the other is the M. The term consensual is to be stressed since there are disorders where you can be a sadist and wish to inflict pain onto other regardless of their willingness
Continuing on wit the BDSM stuff. In terms of it being right or wrong to be either a sadist or a masochist depends on how you go about the relationship. Somme people find it weird but it isn't technically wrong so honestly whatever floats you and your partners boat. Wouldn't boast about it at the office.
The key with BDSM is to mix pain with pleasure so both people are satisfied. You have to talk with your partner, lay out the terms of the relationship, to what extent both are willing to go to, how to do certain things safely (aka hot wax, bondage, whips, etc), have safe words, etc. You don't just punch your partner in the nuts and tell him to enjoy it. You need to know the extent to which you can be injured or even know if your actions can result in death, because those are not part of BDSM, that is another thing entirely; you can be charged with abuse, neglect, cruelty, or even homicide if you are not careful.

Animal torture as a child is a common trait of psychopaths. Not calling you one, but everyone has some form of sadistic and/or masochistic desires, however minor they may be. Don't worry about it too much.

Ummm...wow. Just wow. I just hope you aren't doing it now, because it is a felony to abuse animals of any kind. You may need some outlet; preferably sexually were you can do S&M with a partner, but hopefully you aren't the type with psychopathic traits. I wouldn't worry unless you have a huge urge to hurt living things, then yes you should go ask your doctor vs. the internet, but be warn, if they think you are clinically insane, they can hold you for up to 24hrs in the ER. So just self-reflect or see a psychologist instead of a MD.

First of all, everything Misaki_Chi. Definitely important.
Second, the rest of my reply will be about BDSM, not the singular desire to hurt animals/people. Not a whole lot to say on that subject, but there's a lot to say concerning BDSM.
I think sadism (and masochism) are perfectly fine, as long as the person is fine as well. If the person is messed up or bad or ignorant or ill-informed, then it can be bad, but that's true of just about everything. A person that doesn't know how to play baseball can seriously injure someone (say, by throwing the ball the wrong way and hitting someone in the face), but nobody would say that that makes baseball bad or dangerous.
If it turns a person on to whip someone else, why should anyone else judge, so long as things are done safely and with consent? Everybody has something that turns them on, and wanting a footrub may seem as weird to one person as whipping or being whipped does to another.

You might want to ease up on the torture of animals there, buddy. .-.
Sure that water spraying the hamster wasn't so bad, it was probably the stress which you brought him that took a toll on him, but hopefully things haven't escalated to the point where you are throwing dogs of a roof (anyone remembers that shit?) or pounding animals to death with a shovel (ugh..was hard to watch)...But if it did, then it might be time reconsider your life choices and do some reflection...maybe try to get some professional help.
I don't know why I find the torture of animals more unforgivable than the killing of humans. I mean, I seen beheading videos, executions, hangings, stonings, burn alive ect ect and none of those bring forth the same amount of rage as when I saw that video of how they skin animals alive in China (Jesus motherfucking Christ)....To this day, I cannot bring myself to look at that video again. That is the one instance where I would have no qualms of killing everyone that took part in the skinning. :/
I don't mean to sound vigilante but that was too much even for me.
Anyways, re-read Misaki's post as she did a better job at explaining this whole sadism/masochism business.

Like the others, I don't care as long as it's consensual, safety measures are in place, and everyone knows how it works. To be frank, I don't care about any fetish as long as it isn't hurting anyone.
As for hurting animals, please refrain from doing so and seek help if the urge returns. I believe people have an aversion to animal violence due to the fact that most animals, though sentient, aren't sapient. This makes them "innocent" so to speak; they simply can't understand the reason for their treatment. As such, violence towards to them is especially abhorrent for some humans.
Personally, I'm always more moved by human suffering and death than any animals'.

Don't take what any of us say to heart since even if someone like myself says "I'm a medical professional" you alone have to feel right and independent in any decisions you make. I think the thing you have to think about is why do you want to do these things. If you want to embarrass and hurt others to satisfy yourself, without any pleasure involved for the other party that isn't the sexual form of S&M. Also if the other party is injured as a result where they either need medical attention or feel only pain as a result then that isn't S&M either; is also why I mentioned you need to talk things out with a partner so they don't get severely injured. Basically some bumps and scrapes are okay I know I got a bruise on my bottom from a bit too much fun one night, but nothing should ever be torn, broken, dislocated, severely bruised or bleeding. Accidents can happen but not more often then not; that means you need to work on the play more or it isn't play.
I cannot say what you are feeling is wrong since what you feel and what you do is two very different things. I know when I do S&M play with my bf and I am the dom, I want to tease and torture him, but only to satisfy both of our desires. We have limits and safe words for anything extreme. I wouldn't do or say something without him being okay with it first, same goes for me when we switch roles. You can't just go strait to pulling someone's hair and calling them a dog, you have to work your way into various forms of physical relations and always keep your partners need as a priority next to your own.
I would just think about thoughts versus reality more because it's one think to think something another to do it. I would say if you feel a compulsion (to be specific you feel you cannot function normally without doing something; similar to OCD) then maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk to someone. If you function normally and all you desire is to try S&M in the future then you're fine.
Like I said the story with the hamster isn't the type of S&M you want discussed and mention initially you won't harm animals again or it comes off a bit creepy.
