phishing issues

I have been having issues with a phishing site recently while reading webcomics. It forces it's way in as a redirect on a few sites, making a popup and forcing a redirect to 69.162.92.231/us2/728-lp.php. I was wondering if anyone has encountered sometihing similar or has advice on how to stop it. Malwarebytes doesn't see it, but every time it occurs Windows Defender pops up a note saying it's blocking malware.

Are you sure that you aren't infected with some sort of virus that's redirecting your connections?
I would try running Rogue Killer (select all and click delete after the scan), ADWcleaner, then Junkware Removal Tool

While it is nifty software that I think I'll keep around, it only worked for a little while and messed up some settings. Had to actually log in (the Horror!) to Chrome again and I can't get a program (Logitec setpoint) to stick around in the notification area again.

yeah, JRT will reset many browser settings to defaults (though personal stuff like bookmarks/favorites should be saved). With that ruled out though, are you still getting those redirects?
Can we get a list of some of the pages with said redirects? Which browser are you using and does it occur in other browsers?

The websites I was having issues with were egscomics.com and questionablecontent.net. I just went through the areas I was having trouble with in Chrome using FireFox, but had no redirect prompts. Oh, I'm using Chrome. Like before the redirects were every few pages, then ramped up to I couldn't even go back without it attacking.

All of those seem to check out as well, I suppose it could very well just be a dubious redirect ad like the ones you see on rule34.paheal.net.

So long as it seems contained to just those sites then it seems to be nothing on your end.

Well, that's good news I guess.
