What do you think of the Live action RE movies?

Sorry if there is any thread like this before.
One of the Resident Evil movies was on the other night and, for the lack of anything else to watch, I decided I would give it a shot.
It was horrible, there were some many things about it that made me cringe for how bad it was. Considering it was one of the latest(don't remember which one they should put numbers in the titles) I would've figured it'd be pretty good considering how far its gotten.
I want to know, if there's anyone out there who enjoys these movies to tell me your reasons why to help me understand what's keeping it going. Similarly, those who hate it share your reasons for hating it.
I'll keep my reasons brief but I found the gun acting from the main character to be very poor in comparison to actors in the film that have had experience, clearly she must have some as well. The movies seemed more like they took characters and other things from the games and just threw it into some generic hollywood crap.
A friend tells me that they probably did it like this to make it seem more like a video game but I certainly did not enjoy it.

im sorry but I hate them, they are an insult to the resident evil games. as a matter of fact even the videogame series has gotten dull

Horrible movies, look like they were made on a $1,000 budget. They are sometimes fun to laugh at though.

I didn't hate the first one that much. Wasn't great, but I'd watch it again. After that well.... I have nothing else to say (-_-)...

For the live action RE movies, only the first 2 were the actualy good ones to me. I felt they actualy brought horror to it. After that, it all went down hill from there. I seriously don't know what they did to fuck it up. The plot just keeps getting worse as they keep making them. And rumor has it that another one is being made, too. They should have just stopped after the second one in my opinion.
As for the CG movies, Degeneration and Damnation were really good. No real complaints from them. There was another one made before those 2 that I never saw but still want to see.

I only really watched the first one fully. To me they are okay, but for me just not good enough to make as many movies as they did for it.

If it's about the live action ones, first two were okay, third was meh, and I never watched the others.
About the CG ones, they're pretty good.

Yeah I probably should've mentioned that I was talking about the live action movies. Don't get me wrong, Degeneration and Damnation were pretty good. I just can't stand the acting in the live action ones.

I've seen the first, second, and fifth movies. Out of those that I've seen, the first one was decent, and I actually liked the second one a lot. The fifth is pretty bad though... Hopefully this next one they make will be the last. I'll probably finish the series at some point, just for the sake of finishing it, but it's not a priority for me.

I'm one of the few that enjoyed Resident Evil 2 the most. The rest were average or less than average to me. Resident Evil 2 had Jill Valentine in it and I loved how it took place in the city and not outside of it or inside a building. Still, I have to say that I wouldn't watch any of the movies again if I had to. I completely skipped out on the latest since I heard it was god awful.

Hope it's not bad if I sorta revive this thread with my input.
I actually got a little into the movies before I reeeeeally got into the games. I had played some of the games as a kid but only a little of several because I always got scared and ran away but around when MVC3 came out and I developed an interest to try RE again starting with REmake and then I proceeded to quickly get and play virtually every single game in the series.
The point is I remember what I thought of the movies before I became a fanatic of the games and I feel a little different now since I have played them.
The first RE movie I saw was the second one. I recognized the title and it was for sale really cheap on VHS so my grandma got it. I actually thought it was really cool. I like zombies, and I like night + city settings. So to me it was just an action zombie movie. And tbh in general, action movies are pretty ridiculous so you tend to turn your brain off for them. Or at least I used to. [I do remember the first time I saw Nemesis vs Alice though. I think I was indifferent to it entirely] Then eventually I saw the 1st one and I thought it was pretty cool and I mildly enjoyed the 3rd one. And then I saw the 4th one and I remember thinking it was really bad but I did like Wesker.
Once I got into the games and went back to the movies I found myself realizing how much of a Mary Sue that Alice was and her character began to violently irritate me. Especially with how she was the star for some reason. Overpowered too. Take her virus powers away and you can barely see any difference. But I can't hate her completely because I like her actor's performance. (Same reason I don't hate Sookie from True Blood. Btw that is a horrible awful show--Don't watch it)
Even after getting into the games, I can actually still watch the movies and enjoy them for what they are. I kinda mentally detach it from Resident Evil in my mind. As much as I can. I actually still like the first and second movie if I try and not think of it was Resident Evil. I haven't watched the 3rd one in a long time tho.
Overall the RE movies are bad fanfiction staring a Mary Sue written and filmed by actual people. People who are making money off of the kind of thing 16 year old goths on deviantart write.

The live action films are disgrace to the game series and in my opinion have nothing in common, except the name of the title and the characters. The first film was semi ok, even though it too didn't make it feel like the film was based on the game series.
IMO they should either reboot the whole thing with a way better director and it should be a horror film OR just stop making new ones.
