You might want to clarify on the 00 gundam because there is no mg 00 gundam it's either 00 Raiser or 00 seven swords.

I miss Lil's hobby store here where I get my paint. Suggestions on how to strip spray paint?lil's hobby store Trinoma branch is closed right? or they moved somewhere out there which i don't know.
for acrylic, Acetone.
For enamel, lighter fluid.
for lacquer- acetone/denatured alcohol. either of the two works fine.
Megamall =|
IDK what TS is made of. Dunno if it's lacquer or acrylic
That's too far. :/ i don't want to go that far just to buy a bottle of paint.
as i have heard. they moved back in their main branch in pasig.
meh, better visit Greenhills.
as for TS, i say just use an acetone. it's safe on plastic.
rub it on a tissue or cotton, and let it do the job.
Acetone melts PS and PVC plastic =\
oh well, may be you could use some isoprophyl alcohol. about 50-70%solution.
it may get messy, and it does take a lot of time to strip. if it does not do the work. you should just sand it with a sanding sponge. or 600-800grit sandpaper.
Don't use acetone on PC, it's suicide. On the PVC and ABS it's okay just use a little on cotton and rub on it and rinse in water after, don't dip the part in acetone even if you are desperate, just to be clear though it's nail polish remover with acetone, not pure acetone (it only has 20% acetone in it), ...Using the right amount will only eat away the paint and the primer, I've been using it as an alternative stripper for years (2-3 years), and my painted gunpla are still standing tall and can pose nicely. I completely understand your doubts about using it though, my friend once melted some parts by dipping them over night XD.
Otherwise, sandpaper will work fine just don't over do it.

thanks for the clarification!.
i've experienced the same thing on denatured alcohol. i dipped the parts overnight and the next morning, they looked like poo.
well, been using the same alternate paint stripper for the past years. it's cheap and it works fast.
even after if i switched paints right now. this thing is still effective if you ask me.

Has anyone made a gundam with airbrushed simulated battle damage? You know, shown with everyday wear and tear scratches and dents from battle.

Remember me?
Hey, guys.
I've never done GunPla before, but it's something I'd really like to get in to.
All I do is collect figures like Fix Figurations and MSIA, but building mobile suits sounds like a shitload of fun.
I'd really like to start off on Real Grade, but I'm unsure.
Part of me says I should really start on High, but I feel like I could probably do Real Grade anyway, despite being a beginner.
Can I get some thoughts?
Maybe recommendations on good first GunPla models?
I've got my eye on a Real Grade RX-78-2.... it'd be really cool to have the original Gundam as my first GunPla.

Repaired and painted my sinanju.
Got a ticket for the UC OVA 5. WILL WATCH THIS GLORIOUS MOVIE IN HD.

@antwon- You should start with HG's. it is easy to build. But if you insist on digging on the RG line, you should get proper tools. like a cutter, nipper. etc.
Be careful though, RG's have lots and lots of small parts, since they are that small, you need to be very careful on not breaking or losing the parts of the kit.
HG 1/144-1/100- standard snapbuild kit, polycap, good for beginners, usual height is at 4 inches for 1/144, and 6-8 inches for 1/100
RG 1/144 - Basically HG's that have an internal frame.
MG 1/100 - Has an internal Frame, decals, and very fun build. Height is around 6-8 inches.
PG 1/60- Scaled up MG's, Buttload of parts and details. stands 10-12 inches at least.

Spoiler:
i've been wanting to repaint my Sinanju because it got damaged by the earthquake last year.
nice job repainting it.especiallt at the golden parts because if you didn't put the masking tape that well,it can get pretty messy.
@AnTw0n my thoughts the same with bobing.
because RG tends to get more fragile than HGs.so for beginners,it can get pretty difficult at some point.

I think a Real Grade might be too much of a challenge to you... As I recall, it's like building a master Grade, just way smaller. I'd suggest getting this...
@ bobing
fuck you. :( I wanna watch it as well. If only I had spare cash.

Oh shit, they make starter kits? Thanks for letting me know
I'll try and pick one up real soon, and I'll post it here if I do.
