I recently completed my first gundam model, a 1/144 scale red Astray NG. I have been building models themselves for years but I wanted to practice my painting on it. I would post pics but it is a practice kit for me, meaning i made a few mistakes with it. I do have one question though, whats the best way to do the black outlines on the leg area?

"PG Strike Gundam ready for its dose of Top Coat. The trick (trick?) here is to take a deep breath and spray all over and then run away otherwise you may die from the toxic fumes."
I'm going to add "Dying" to the Con section of my Pro's and Con's of getting into Gunpla list.

I don't really find it practical to spray paint on the whole runner and then cut the parts out. You're better off cutting the part from the runner, sand it, and put it on your skewers for painting. You actually waste more paint by painting the parts on the runner. And primer actually helps in making the paint stick more, and make the colors more uniform. And most people I know top coat the parts before assembly, this allows for a more uniform and even spray on all the parts.
It's not that I'm belittling Danny Choo's guide and his modelling skills, but it's better going all out than going half-assed on the things that you love wholeheartedly.
And about the Astray problem, you can probably use a fine point technical pen for panel lining.

Watch 08th Ms team they said, would be fun they said.
well, this kit is pretty good for it's age, even with limited articulation, and gimmicks, i find it pretty good, and stable, but the plastic is kinda brittle, i don't know if it's the age of the kit, but, i broke a few pegs already.

Yes there are 2 armored core in the background. White Glint and Unsung.
Also what do you want me to say? The painting turn out ok. The quality of the photo's don't show it but there are some places the paint chipped off, such as where the shield attached to the arm, and the gold/yellow paint is pretty meh. I still have to apply the decals at some point but I'm lazy =|

also, if you can manage, chip off more paint. It makes great weathering effects.
