So I did some covers...

Yeah, title says it all. I was hoping to get some constructive comments/hints and tips and such.
So yeah, I'll update this post as I go along recording, and I would be happy if people gave me a few tips on songs to play, since my own imaginations of what I can do only goes that far.
Links are for streams, just that ya'know.
On Melancholy Hill - Instrumental, you no longer have to listen to my god-awful voice. Rejoice!
Recycled Air - I at least think this went pretty well. :3
Recycled Air [Take 2] - Well yeah...
Mario Kart Lovesong
First Day of My Life - Listen on own risk. Shit sucks, feel free to listen though.
I will follow you into the dark - Yeah, I'd say it went pretty good, I'm surprised by myself to be honest.
Stand By Me - Fuck yeah, I just raped Oasis hard in the ass, but w/e, try to enjoy, some screwups but that's what happens when I don't know the song by heart.
Drops of Jupiter - yeah, the one that I spent most time with, mostly because I had to learn the song from scratch, but also recorded much better than the others, my best work.
I recorded these using nothing but a cheap-ass 20$ headset, so the quality isn't really what you would want, but no matter how much I want to I just can't afford any decent studio-gear.
This is what it looks like right now. Not really that fancy. <_

I don't really like this type of music but those were some damn good covers I was really impressed with the first one. How did you convert that to the guitar? Did you do it yourself or maybe use tabs you found somewhere? I thought the vocals were okay at best but I think you would need a better judge for that I have no talent for singing. Also since I like metal more then other genres I'm kinda biased to how I like my singers to sound which doesn't take the most effort.

Thanks. :3 But yeah, my singing isn't that good yet, but practice makes perfect right. Converting Recycled Air to guitar was looking at a mixture of faulty tabs and listening to Ben Gibbard's own acoustic version of the song to take out the last pieces.
I redid Recycled Air though, in a higher key and a faster tempo(Not really the point, it just happened.) and I added "Mario Kart Lovesong" by Sam Hart.

So... I actually kind of like your voice. I mean, practice yes it's always good, but it instantly reminded me of the guy from The Magnetic Fields (Stephen Merritt? I think that's his name)

Thanks for all the comments, I'm surprised that no-one has gone "Oh shit, I think my ears are bleeding and that you fucking suck!" since that's the, well not usual, but not too unusual response.
I've re-recorded I will follow you into the dark and also gave Stand By Me a try, "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" went pretty good I think.
And I have to check out The Magnetic Fields some more, see if I can try to cover something by them. (^_^'')

"69 Love Songs" is one of my favorite albums of all time. Just a recommendation if you're going to delve into the Magnetic Fields.
I'm personally trying to learn the song "Absolutely Cuckoo" on the ukulele.

Yeah, the links are for streams. And there is only two songs by Ben Gibbard up there... so far. But yeah, his music are great so I'll probably do some more of his songs, they're easy to play and more or less easy to sing. (Well, not for me perhaps, but w/e)
Edit: Just finished recording Drops of Jupiter by Train, I did it a little more "for real" than the other songs, recording song and guitar separate for once, and put in a little reverb in there. Turned out quite good, the best of my covers in my own opinion. A few screwups with the lyrics though, but w/e.
