Some guy gave me 2 dollars today.

*Apologies in advance for the live bloggginess?(some will hate that with a vengeance me thinks)
Its the most random thing that happened to me in quite some time.
To start it was another ordinary morning, I was borderline late to work because I stayed up all night(again) playing video games
on my handheld. As I got on the FX(Eff Ex, a van that has 10 sardines passengers and 1 Driver that has certain routes to get on and get off)
I realized that I forgot to check my money, and I lacked a few (pesos) cents to get to my destination.(Thanks to my lack of discipline with money I don't withdraw everything from my payroll as much as possible, I am afraid I'll blow it all on one day
which I do. but I placed limits so I still have some money saved up)
I scrounged my bag for every coin I can get, obviously everyone at the back where I was seated saw how (pitiful?) I looked struggling to complete a payment.
On panic, I lied and paid what money I had to get off at a street, a bit far from my work so the money matches, since they were pretty liberal about it, I managed to get away of being a little short, as I did not get off where I said I would
and waited till I was really near my workplace.
As I tried to sneak out of that van, the guy next to me called out, first thing I had in mind is (shit what?) he just said "dude" and handed me 100 pesos (2 dollars), obviously I just needed to jet so instead of thanking him(since I was confused)
I said something like "Oh I must have dropped it, thank you"
Based on my habits, it really was possible that I had no more money at the time or I forgot I still did.
The Possibilities:
-He saw how pathetic I was, lacking money and decided to be generous. (Surprised, grateful and hope that guy has a good day forever)
-I did not realize I had/dropped that bill and waited till I got off the van to (still grateful he gave it back, since people will hold on to bills, myself included)
Care to weigh in?

Some chick flagged me down in the parking lot of Barnes and Nobles go spy on her cheating boyfriend in a bar on the otherside of the complex. She gave me 20$. He wasn't there.

It's not being pitiful, he was just being nice. I've covered for people at stores before. People can be more kind than one would think.

i think he was giving you two dollars, mostly because it makes it funnier when you say "i must have dropped it."

I usually try to help others whenever I can. It's always nice to see someone smile, especially in such a small, depressing town like the place where I am.

Not everyone are assholes in this world. I will sometimes when someone doesn't have enough money for something, and obviously they are someone that usually would have that money, I will help and cover them. There are more of those type of people than you think.
Also those people that trying to get something by using pity right away, I see those type of people more.

Yup true enough and as per my post, I admittedly have that mentality. Though its not more like I think most people are assholes its just, that we are the big city, my country can't thrive as much despite people actually being nice and hospitable due to corruption and ineptitude(see: Philippines).
I wasn't expecting anyone who can afford to be a nice as that guy, more like I was expecting them to pay no mind.
Glad to see people stepping up though, we need more of that here or anywhere actually.

I'm thinking they had too much change and left a tip like that, coins are heavy :3

Then again I hope it gets less depressing, I am quite "versed" in that sort of feeling and environment.
