WOW! It just so happens my little sister is into K-Pop and sorta pointed me in the direction of J-Rock since I dig Rock and I stumbled onto this thread. I just viewed the One Ok Rock stuff and I LOVE IT! Is there anywhere other than Youtube where I can get their stuff! It's awesome! Are there other groups that I might like that have a similar style?I thought this band was kinda similar to One OK Rock's hard rock songs.
Recently fell in love with these guys so it's worth listening to them rock it out.
Note they sing in english.

I just wiped out my iPod and now I'm back here again. ONE OK ROCK released a new single two weeks ago, as expected, it's pure awesome.
Also, I just found their latest album, http://www.oneokrock.com/discography/, which I'd highly suggest listening to as well.

Reviving this thread for OOR's new album.
It contains part of The Beginning and Deeper Deeper singles that were released last year but I think "Ending story??" is likely my favorite song from this album. Nothing Helps was also re-recorded.
Anyone hear anything new recently in the world of J-Rock? I'd love to hear it! =)

SCANDAL's new song "Awanai tsumori no, genki de ne" or "I don't intend to see you again, take care"
The mv keeps getting blocked on YT, so watch it while you can.

How could no one mention the biggest Metal band in Japanese history? hide is mai waifu
The golden days.
Their first two albums, Vanishing Vision and Blue Blood, are pure speed metal albums with power metal and some symphonic elements. Their later albums, like Dahlia, had an alternative/progressive approach, but they stayed metal for the most part. My personal favorite is the Art of Life album, which is basically a 30-minute symphonic metal epic, released way ahead of its time. I don't know which album to recommend, normally I'd suggest listening to them chronologically, but I they are a bit of an acquired taste since they come off as a speed metal band at one point, and then they switch to romantic ballads. Every essence of modern Japanese rock owes it to X Japan, like Western Metal owes to Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath.

A new year, a new post. And yet another revival.
Almost being done uni here, I'm approaching the last finals I'll ever take and with that said, I've been in search of new J-rock again. I'm just back to ask...
Anything new? Any new hit bands that I missed since my last post? Any awesome new singles/albums from good bands I might of missed? etc.
I work a new job where I can listen to music while I work so it's been easier for me listen to stuff and I've exhausted my current supply of music to the point where it's just becoming noise (even the legendary ONE OK ROCK is starting to wear thin on me, but I'll be seeing them at Warped tour this year! :D) But anyway, go for it. I'm willing to download any suggestions I get. :D
Thanks again, guys.

Oh, OP is still alive. I'll be recommending Ling Toshite Sigure then since no one has done it yet. The main vocalist may be hit or miss (Kitajima, better known as TK grew on me) for some but after a few listens, I realized how amazing his pitch was. Sharp technical guitar playing and an awesome bassist (Nakamura) who is the secondary vocalist. She made me realize that I have a thing for girls playing bass.
Abnormalize full PV
Youtube only has the short PV, which is in the spoiler below.
Nano's vocal style also reminds me a lot of Taka's from OOR. They both do top quality songs in English and Japanese. I really want to hear them together.
