I don't really mind rewrites as long as the writing is good. That being said, I haven't actually seen rewrites with good writing except for maybe some CGs or fanart with captions beneath them that tell a pretty hot story.

I always wonder why people bother to do a rewrite. For me it doesn't fix anything (well that is my response to people who said "sometimes rewrites are better than the original"). I think it's a form of trolling, I mean if you can write (rewrite) a story over something original then why not redraw the graphics as well? That said I hate it but I'm fine with the fact that there are people enjoying it.

There are some classics I'd prefer we never lose, such as the infamous "Step off! I drive a Dodge Stratus!", "Who in their right mind would frost a cake with their butt? Oh God I'm going blind", and that weird "I've got big muscles!" comic that someone put onto Fakku for April Fool's a few years back. I'm glad we have them.
Sure, it was annoying when the only script we had for A Straight Line to Love's second chapter was a comedic re-write, but hey, we're not entitled to free, well-translated hentai.
