Well, not an anime, but the first mecha stuff I watched on TV was Transformers G1 when I was a little kid (that, and also Jeeg, Mazinger, stuff like that).

Hmm. Tough one. I'd saw a bit of Neon Genesis first, but I think Gurren Lagann was the first one I actually fully completed. Or FLCL, if that counts.

Do Transformers count as mechas? If not, then the first "mecha" show other than Transformers would be NGE. That stuff was great back when I was a kid... although nothing can beat my beloved Transformers.

Mine was the Gundam Wing Movie. After watching it I spent years trying to remember what it was called. After finding it again I have to admit... it was cooler the first time. ^^'

Well considering late 90s Toonami, Gundam Wing. Although I'd like to say NGE because I actually finished watching that series when a friend gave me his Platinum DVD set back in early 2000. I didn't actually get to watch NGE on Toonami.
