Neon Genesis Evangelion.
I still remember it, due to it being shown on the only Polish channel that shows anime, and it having the most awesome lector (a guy who dubs everyone over the original voice).

Neon Genesis Evangelion. I didn't have internet at the time and it was one of the few series the local video store carried. It loved it but it was something of a mindscrew at the end.
