Personally I think its still hard to say whether or not SAO was a 'ripoff' (thats rather harsh actually...) concept wise of .hack.
I'd say its safe to say the concepts were roughly around the same time if not by a difference of half a year to 2 years.

Unfortunately, I don't like any anime except HXH right now. Thought Soul Eater Not! was good, but just so not the Soul Eater. Fairy Tail is good. Sword Art Online II has been not up to my expectations either but I like how the story goes back to the original Sword Art Online. It's just my opinion.

1. Zankyou no Terror really surprised me. Good Plot and Animation.
2. Haikyuu is also the one of my favorites. Production IG (Shingeki no Kyojin collaborator) really did a good job here. The Plot and comedic timings is also perfect!
3. I haven't watched Barakamon and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun but I was told by my friend that it was good so I'll give it a shot when it's finished.
4. Aldnoah.Zero is super FCKING AWESOME!!!
5. Rokujouma no Shinryakusha is crap. The storytelling and flow of the story is crap. I'm still watching it though because I don't drop Anime that I've started.

It is hard to choose only one. I'm in love with zankyou no terror but I enjoy barakamon, Free! And Gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun a lot too. And I have a terrible weakness for sports anime so dia no ace, haikyuu and baby steps fill my heart too~
But I watch like SAO, tokyo ghoul, hamatora etc. And like them too. Choosing is so hard ~

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei would be my number one, since it's not though Akame Ga Kill! gets it. It would be followed by Tokyo Ghoul (though the manga is far superior to the anime).

This season has been so fucking edgy goddamn, and it's not even clever writing either.
Zankyou no Terror is alright at best so far, I legitimately can't see why everyone thinks it's the best shit ever when it's still at a point where it's leading up to something meaningful and just showing random edgy kids blow shit up. Their riddles aren't exactly master class either.
Akame ga Kiru is typical shonen shit with more blood and death, still not bad. I feel like the art style translates so much better as a manga though.
Aldnoah.Zero caught me off-guard, Inaho is cool but hard to empathize with, things have just started to pick up. Not bad. Latest episode intrigued me.
Tokyo Ghoul Lmao this fucking show. Edge on edge on edge. Every time I watch an episode I have to replace my monitor and get a bandaid.
Barakamon is good and people who like this have good taste
