mine would probably be taking out the keys on the keyboard and playing with the ball on the mouse.

Discovering how hard it is to get the small metalsticks in these old mices back in place.

Hmm... first stupid thing I did was to pull the power cable instead flip the power switch on our C64. Oh, later I did the usual beginner mistake of accidentally deleting DOS system files in Norton Commander.

Downloaded a bunch of useless stuff.

Using Limewire and downloading .exe music songs.

Forgot to buy win 3.1.

Accidentally deleted windows file.

Yea I was that dumb.

Forgetting to install anti-virus software and watched mass amounts of free porn.

Upgrade my internals without getting a better fan... then placing it right beside a wall.

Almost burnt down my house.

Downloading the installer of things and forgetting how to install them.
That, plus not know anything about computers.

Wiping off my processors cooling paste while cleaning the inside of the computer :D
Luckily the processor didnt crap out on me but the several failed bootups before I found out what I did and fixed it no doubt shortened its lifespan. It was my first desktop computer but my third computer overall. Cant think of any major mistakes on the other two.

The teacher was holding up a running computer with the case open and explaining things to a student. Meanwhile I reach my hand in and touch the processor fan and end up shocking it. She was kind of annoyed but didn't really care as we had a ton of old computer to mess with.

Without even pressing the shutdown button on the desktop, I would turn off the Voltage Regulator to quickly turn the pc off.
Now I take good care of my pc.

my FDD wasn't plugged in, so with the computer still in I popped open the case and plugged it in. You could probably guess that when I started to see flames I panicked.

I bought what was then one of the latest graphics cards. I didn't check the power supply I had.
