Nagisa's theme from Clannad is my all-time favorite piece of music.
Just one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
I like music like that, so while I don't really like the classification, I'll say Classical is my favorite. Nagisa isn't the only song like that that I like. There are several other songs I enjoy with wonderful use of instruments. Several are from Key.
But I also enjoy techno, rock, rap, hip hop, country, reggae, celtic, new age, and contemporary christian.
Some anime intros are good; some aren't.
Really, I like whatever sounds good. There's a lot of great stuff out there.
No need to restrict yourself to just one or two genres when there's so much out there.
I find there's a ton of music I like in the Umineko games and anything made by Key.
And the OST of Akagi had some awesome stuff.
