Fakku wasn't the only site to be threatened with a takedown, loads of sites and scanlation groups were.
>Jacob struck a deal with Wani to publish their works to the Western market legally and on their terms. They agreed and unlicensed content was removed as a result. It's a small price to pay to tap into a market that was previously exclusive to Japan. Everything you see uploaded to the site now comes from a magazine published in Japan.
>A subscription service was introduced to allow unlimited access to the content for a monthly fee. Everyone involved in the deal wins. The artist, the publisher, the website, and those who subscribe.
There may be freebies in the future but for now it's almost entirely a subscription service. That is of course unless you buy a Book then you have unlimited access to it, and potentially a physical copy.
