Which are better?

Which are better, the Let's Plays of Something Awful (where LPs originated from) or the Let's Plays that have spread elsewhere?

Furthermore, do you like traditional screenshot LPs or the more modern video LPs?

Let's plays; someone plays a game and may narrate it. They may even let their audience suggest ideas, if the game allows it.

They're all over YouTube, amazed you don't know about them.

I know I've watched Let's Plays on youtube, but Something Awful I've never heard about so I think that's where the confusion is coming from (get the jist of it after looking it up, but still don't really care).

Honestly I don't really have an opinion which is better. Even if I did have an opinion, it'd be biased since I don't know much about that one site. All I do is watch gameplay for the heck of it via youtube or twitch because it's enjoyable for me.

Something Awful has been responsible for a lot of the popular things on the Web. To just name a few...

*"All Your Base Are Belong To Us" was originally spread there.

*"How Is Babby Formed?" was originally spread there.

*"Goatse" was originally spread there.

In addition, a Something Awful forum member also launched 4chan.

And, as mentioned here, LPs were started there. The guy who first brought LPs from Something Awful to YouTube, slowbeef (often called the "Father of LPs") still does LPs, and also runs the channel "Retsupurae" which makes fun of bad Let's Plays.

The main problem with Something Awful is that you have to pay ten dollars to join its forums, and if you get banned you have to pay another ten bucks. They are also a bunch of elitists, so they don't take well to newcomers.

Never herd of that guy. Only good one I watched was "Two Best Friends Play" when they started up. but now they seem to be falling off and doing Crazy long and boring full let's play's.

Don't care about Let's Plays/would rather play the game than watch and get spoiled.

Yeah I looked them up and saw that, but again not interested in the site personally. Just gonna let others give their opinions since I don't really have one on this.

Whilst I am currently alive, my current state of health is bad (due to a few stupid mistakes on a few people's parts) and doctors are unsure if I'm going to recover (and even if I do recover, they are unsure if I will recover fully or if I will be damaged by this ordeal in some way). I'm going for an MRI soon. I just hope things turn out all right.

I've never watched them myself, but I think the LPers in question are male, if they are the same people that I think that they are.

Whether LPs that come from Something Awful (where LPs originated) are better or worse than LPs that come from outside of Something Awful.

Additionally, whether screenshot LPs are better than video LPs (both exist on Something Awful, though screenshot LPs are much older and better liked there).

I generally don't watch LP's. I can tolerate some of those personalities but only if they're playing something I care about. Only noticeable ones I remember are Cry(something of that sorts) and SuperBestFriends.

The choices were unclear, I like LPs from people who aren't Pewdiepie. Cause he has enough people following him.

Hmm... I enjoy watching Let's Plays of horror games a lot, though I DO use Let's Play videos to check out games before I buy them. I hate spending money on games I end up not playing. Furthermore I also use those videos for tutorial purposes sometimes on more strategy-based games like Civilization 5 or Don't Starve, etc.
