PC = endless hentai. End of story and nothing a consul can do about that. Plus there isn't anything a consul can do better then a PC. Emulators ftw.

Consoles for a simple enough reason.
Games for consoles are made for the console.
PCs are built for the games.
the fact that you have to trick out your system to fit the requirements of the game is good because it keeps games from remaining stale and it leaves room for innovation. I just don't have the kind of money to keep rebuilding my system every few months. XD

Well I voted for console and I knew I would the moment I saw it.
I have to say with it that I'm a major Nintendo fan.
So I would prefer computer above PS or XBox, becuase the games on those 2 consoles arent very 'authentic' [if thats the word I mean]. Those games you can usually play on pc and even in higher quality depending on your pc. But the games for Nintendo [I play both Wii and DS] have a kind of feeling of joy when you play it, I guess its partially because of the controllers [you know wii remote and stylus]. But even besides that I still find the games for Nintendo better. Not just simple-minded hack & slash or run and gun or racing games, but games with depth.
This all doesn't mean I dont like those kind of games at all.. I think it's fun for a week and then I download those games for pc. But after all, my heart really lies at the consoles so I chose for consoles [with the nice controles :P ]
However...this is just how I see it and [seeing I'm outnumbered] I guess not many think alike.

Actually I find this poll a little vague.
For gaming wise, consoles provide a lot of really good RPGs, fighting games, sports games. It just feels different to play Fifa10 or Street Fighter on PC, as compared to on a console. With no worries about specs and graphics, console games are better in this sense.
Of course, PC beats console in other ways too. PC is infinitely more versatile obviously, allowing you to watch porn, MSN, game, and so forth. PCs also have MMORPGs which provides a different kind of gaming as compared to console games.
While there are a lot of game emulators on PC, you have to once again worry about HD space, GFX specs, RAM usage, and all. I find that generally console games suit consoles more, and are not as fun to play on emulators.
I voted for Console, as I am looking at this poll from a gaming point of view.
PS. Some of people's comments like 'PC IS THE BOMBZ I RATHER BURN A CONSOLE THAN PLAY IT' sounds a whole lot like sour grapes.
PPS. What is with the 'PC got better image' thing that you guys are talking about. Console games + 42" Full HD TV + Home theatre system would own 90% of the computers in terms of graphics and sound. Obviously you can link the CPU to such extensions as well, but most people do not.

I would go with consoles because I have a lot games of it, but sometimes pc get me more MMORPG like Final Fantasy XI on pc for example. I also have a custom pc that runs games even in high settings, so it won't matter to me. Since console started when I was little, then consoles shall be. :)

PC because I prefere keyboard and mouse. I can also buy any kind of other controller for my PC: Joystick, joypad (console controller), mat (dance games), gun, infrared wireless controller (like wii), and most likely more I have not thought about.
So for gaming PC wins because it is much more versitile

Too bad that i don't have console game....
so the only left choice is PC.. (the game now require a really good computer spec)
but i prefer use keyboard and mouse after all... (joystick makes my hands numb)

PC; let me summarize why:
- competitive, affordable prices for PC and PC components
- Availability. In my country, El Salvador, it's increasingly difficult to find both consoles *and* a variety of games
- Versatility. PC's can do what consoles can and more (yes, they can be used to actually work, too)which can't be said the other way around

PC if you have the money to buy the needed hardware. Console if it's too much of a hassle to update every 2-5 years.
I'll go for PC for now, because for once, I'm actually up-to-date.

Having read the topic I must say that somehow ppl who prefer consoles tend to know more about PCs than ppl who prefer PCs about consoles.
There is no problem in playing FPS's or RTS's on a console, because you can easyly plug in a keyboard and a mouse.
Consoles are still evolving, not only in power and parameters, but in numerous patterns (motion controls, vibration, dancing mats, guitar/DJ hero stuff, etc. - all of that came from consoles) . Whereas PCs, well, only get stronger parameters.
Someone mentioned touchpads on PCs; ever heard of Nintendo Dual Screen? It's a console alright; a handheld one, which can be played anywhere. Now you might say "but I can play PC games anywhere on my laptop or notebook!", you can but is it as comfortable as a handheld? I don't thik so. And it's very limited; it's uncomfortable to play in the bus, or walking ;]
When it comes to games, it's hard to argue, one who prefers RTS or FPS (or MMORPGs) will like PC more, if you prefer any other genre you like consoles.
What I've found interesting is the fact how did PCs and consoles evolve. PCs at the beginning were ment for work, and had smaller number of games (and quite average ones). Consoles were only for playing games. Now PCs get better games than they used to, and consoles get more multimedia stuff (I doubt they'll made to be able to work on them though, it isn't necessary as we have PCs for that ;]).
For some of you who might not knew, you could surf the net on a Dreamcast.
The topic about graphics makes me laugh generally. Like someone saw a game which uses a 100% of PS3 power. Such game doesn't exist. And if somehow someone menaged to make such a game, a PC would probably need a GF 12k to make it run ;] Heck, PS2 power wasn't entirely used (or maybe in Black - FPS)
Oh, and you can't emulate PS3, PSP, Xboxs' (both), and Wii on your PC. GCB emu isn't very good, as well as Dreamcast's (not every game works). You can emulate the rest though; yay for you ;]
Generally:
Work and net - PC
Gaming - Console
I've chosen a console ;]

If handheld was an option this would have been a really tough choice, but I probably still would have chosen console.
PCs are great, I still love playing Starcraft and I have a bunch of emulated games. Then there are awesome things like VNs and random indie games, not to mention the usage of the internet.
But the reason that I pick consoles?
1) You know it will work. Other people have said it and I repeat it: Console games are made to work on the console. If it doesn't, it is likely slightly messed up which means you can exchange it; something that rarely happens
2) Console games, even on the Wii, tend to look and play better than on the PC
3) Multiplayer. Two to four players can play at once on most consoles, sometimes even more than that. Then you can add in online multiplayer
4) Consoles get more advertisements, which means that it is easier to find console games compared to PC games
5) History, namely that consoles made gaming possible. Sure, we might have had stuff like we do now; but consoles blew the lid on gaming. Everyone was trying to make something cool and for every ten ideas that failed, at least one succeeded.
