This reminds me of the consoles war thread and the Elitism thread in the Video Games Section, hehe.
I prefer PC simply because it's more versatile than any other platform. Hell, the greatest multiplayer's, MMPORGs, RTS, and Hentai/Visual Novels are played through PCs, and nothing beats using a keyboard and mouse for FPS. Hell, we even have ROMs that make gaming on the old gameboy, PS, and Nintendo obsolete.
However, the experience of playing with your best buddies and shouting, "Fuck you!" or, "Owned bitch!" is something that PC lacks. Consoles are better tools of social bonding even if PC has greater networking capabilities (since everyone has one).

Is this only about gaming? If so then I vote console!
Voted for PC because id go slightly mad without my music and its just much easier to use to brouse "things". :P
My computers so ancient modern games would probably make smoke come out of it, The DVD players whack too.(Makes noise like a turbine whenever I put a disc in the fucker) :(

I choose PC mainly due to it being multi-purpose and also upgradeable as compared to the consoles.
Heck, I was practically raised with consoles at my side but once I’ve started playing on the PC, all my consoles(5 of them; I don’t have the heart to throw them away) just starts collecting dust and are only used when my friends come over to my house.
Which brings me to the 5 consoles part; I’d rather upgrade my PC rather than have the temptation to buy the new console every time a new one comes out although I do say I've had my share of fun experiences playing with my friends on the consoles which could hardly be achieved using a PC.

Gotta be PC.
FPS's play so much better, and RTS's are nearly impossible on consoles.
Good old Battlefield 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time.

I enjoy both fairly equally but the experiences I remember with the most fondness are console games. Zelda, Actraiser, Secret of Mana, Rad Racer, Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, and Perfect Dark. I've still got a soft spot for the Mario games too and really I can't claim any particular games outside the point and click genre that I enjoy on the PC quite on the same level as most of the above mentioned.

I voted PC but it really depends on my mood and whatnot. I love my pc for stuff like VN's, watching videos, and especially World of Warcraft (the granddaddy of all soulstealers XD) I'm usually on my computer way more then my consule, but I think that's because of the lack interesting games (that I can afford right now)
But for actual games, I was raised on Super Nintendo and Street Fighter 2, then N64, and then I moved on from my Nintendo-Fanboyism and branched out and with Xmas right around the corner I'll probably finally be able to get some of the games I want like Uncharted 2 or L4D2 or Assassin's Creed 2... wow, I just realized all the games I want are sequals XD

I can't really answer this poll because I play both but for different types of games. If it's an action adventure title or something that needs me to have accurate control over what my on-screen character is doing I will almost always use my console but if it's something that requires alot of complicated controls like an RTS I always go for the PC. I don't have a preference.

im a PC gamer as well thou i have a PS2 some games are better on consoles than pcs for example fighting games :), RPG's(persona,FF series :D )but in the end pc is superior to consoles in one way and the consoles are better than pc's in other way. But i'll go with the pc with a small margin :)

PC. Technically, there would be no console without the PC, as games are made on a computer. Having the ability to install an infinite amount of apps on a PC, Freely watching anything you want, and not to mention... ahem... sharing software, and among other things, the PC is far beyond the reach of the console. Besides that, it almost feels as though the consoles have been designed and manufactured for a limited time (possibly a maximum 5 year lifespan, if you don't play as much as the online community, dedicating a full 24 hours). But I may be wrong, my Xbox 360 only lasted for 10 months before I got the 3ROD. But I wouldn't rule out the console just because of it's flaws, some people make a valid point when it comes to it's little maintenance needed to keep the systems working, compared to the PC. Although, it would be nice to be able to defrag my consoles HDD and tweak a couple of other things. Down the line, there will eventually be a major change in hardware that'll give the ability to play almost everything ever made, I would hope that would be the "Onlive" system, where the specs of your PC wouldn't factor in the performance or quality of the type of game your playing, you'll simply be able to pick up and play anything that catches your fancy.

i like both of these images A LOT, they sure have their sexiness. but in terms of selecting systems i would go for pc, it got more "grap" especially when it comes to first person shooting games

PC, Cause they got maaad Internet Cafes In korea for 30cents an hour and it's a crime not to spend a quarter of your life at these places with such a low price
Consoles are good but it's a pain plugging them in and keeping the lines untangled, plus the keyboard is easier to use for people that play a long time with sweaty hands. you can always get updates and expansions on PC, more convinient to save games and files, watch TV, surf the internet at the same time while playing, easier multiplayer interactians, hacks cheats, It's possible to record your gameplay and save video files, the game guides are right at your finger tips which makes the PC infinately more play worthy
I honestly prefer handheld to console.

Having read the topic I must say that somehow ppl who prefer consoles tend to know more about PCs than ppl who prefer PCs about consoles. There is no problem in playing FPS's or RTS's on a console, because you can easyly plug in a keyboard and a mouse.
Consoles are still evolving, not only in power and parameters, but in numerous patterns (motion controls, vibration, dancing mats, guitar/DJ hero stuff, etc. - all of that came from consoles) . Whereas PCs, well, only get stronger parameters.
Someone mentioned touchpads on PCs; ever heard of Nintendo Dual Screen? It's a console alright; a handheld one, which can be played anywhere. Now you might say "but I can play PC games anywhere on my laptop or notebook!", you can but is it as comfortable as a handheld? I don't thik so. And it's very limited; it's uncomfortable to play in the bus, or walking ;]
When it comes to games, it's hard to argue, one who prefers RTS or FPS (or MMORPGs) will like PC more, if you prefer any other genre you like consoles.
What I've found interesting is the fact how did PCs and consoles evolve. PCs at the beginning were ment for work, and had smaller number of games (and quite average ones). Consoles were only for playing games. Now PCs get better games than they used to, and consoles get more multimedia stuff (I doubt they'll made to be able to work on them though, it isn't necessary as we have PCs for that ;]).
For some of you who might not knew, you could surf the net on a Dreamcast.
The topic about graphics makes me laugh generally. Like someone saw a game which uses a 100% of PS3 power. Such game doesn't exist. And if somehow someone menaged to make such a game, a PC would probably need a GF 12k to make it run ;] Heck, PS2 power wasn't entirely used (or maybe in Black - FPS)
Oh, and you can't emulate PS3, PSP, Xboxs' (both), and Wii on your PC. GCB emu isn't very good, as well as Dreamcast's (not every game works). You can emulate the rest though; yay for you ;]
Generally:
Work and net - PC
Gaming - Console
I've chosen a console ;]
fanboy alert, ps3 gpu is vastly outdated, and its procesor is also 3 years old. so it cant compete with the newest pc hardware, and the gpu on the ps3 is only 256mb you cant go more then that so it cant compete vs my like 1GB+ ram. ps2 games can be emulated. and my gtx 275 owns a ps3 anyday.
