PC controls are infinitely better than consoles. PC is the only answer to this question. Any one who disagrees will be labeled as a heretic and disposed of in the name of the emperor.PC elitist huh? Just because one likes consoles over PC makes one a "heretic"? I must have missed the part about PC being the ultimate religion.
Didn't you get the memo? It was right next to the ego expanders.
I personally prefer the rpg and other story based games, which are rarely on the PC (legally, that is). I realize the PC is very versatile, and I cannot do paperwork/taxes/fax on a console, but I don't enjoy those thing anyways, and I assume the poll's criteria is game/fun based. So for now I vote console, and always will, until Wild Arms is on the PC.
Nahhh. I don't feel that strongly about it. I'm just on a 40k kick and felt like calling folks heretics. And if I didn't have a ps2....what would I play my jrpg's on? Well my DS, but that keeps the point valid...

PC :)
and all who says console is better because you do not need to upgrade them for games ...
you need to buy new consoles after like 2-3 years, thats almost the exact same time I wait until i upgrade my PC.
And after all some games also spike/lag on console. Like ghostbusters on ps3 ...
Or they got worse graphics than pc :)

Having read the topic I must say that somehow ppl who prefer consoles tend to know more about PCs than ppl who prefer PCs about consoles. There is no problem in playing FPS's or RTS's on a console, because you can easyly plug in a keyboard and a mouse.
Consoles are still evolving, not only in power and parameters, but in numerous patterns (motion controls, vibration, dancing mats, guitar/DJ hero stuff, etc. - all of that came from consoles) . Whereas PCs, well, only get stronger parameters.
Someone mentioned touchpads on PCs; ever heard of Nintendo Dual Screen? It's a console alright; a handheld one, which can be played anywhere. Now you might say "but I can play PC games anywhere on my laptop or notebook!", you can but is it as comfortable as a handheld? I don't thik so. And it's very limited; it's uncomfortable to play in the bus, or walking ;]
When it comes to games, it's hard to argue, one who prefers RTS or FPS (or MMORPGs) will like PC more, if you prefer any other genre you like consoles.
What I've found interesting is the fact how did PCs and consoles evolve. PCs at the beginning were ment for work, and had smaller number of games (and quite average ones). Consoles were only for playing games. Now PCs get better games than they used to, and consoles get more multimedia stuff (I doubt they'll made to be able to work on them though, it isn't necessary as we have PCs for that ;]).
For some of you who might not knew, you could surf the net on a Dreamcast.
The topic about graphics makes me laugh generally. Like someone saw a game which uses a 100% of PS3 power. Such game doesn't exist. And if somehow someone menaged to make such a game, a PC would probably need a GF 12k to make it run ;] Heck, PS2 power wasn't entirely used (or maybe in Black - FPS)
Oh, and you can't emulate PS3, PSP, Xboxs' (both), and Wii on your PC. GCB emu isn't very good, as well as Dreamcast's (not every game works). You can emulate the rest though; yay for you ;]
Generally:
Work and net - PC
Gaming - Console
I've chosen a console ;]
fanboy alert, ps3 gpu is vastly outdated, and its procesor is also 3 years old. so it cant compete with the newest pc hardware, and the gpu on the ps3 is only 256mb you cant go more then that so it cant compete vs my like 1GB+ ram. ps2 games can be emulated. and my gtx 275 owns a ps3 anyday.
points at crysis
I'm not a fanboy. Well, maybe a little :P Generally I like both, but I've grew up with consoles, so that's my choice.
I don't think that the abitity to change parts in a PC every 2-4 years is a good thing, especially when you own both a PC and a console. It's strange, however, that while PS3 can't technically compete with the newest PC hardware, It competes with it's games (if we talk about cometing anyway). You can't say that current PS3 games look worse that current PC games, because they don't.
Plus, a PC is ment for many other things except playing games, so it needs a better engine to handle all the multi tasking that's going on. Not all of that power is needed for gaming.
After another 3 years you'll have to buy some new parts for your PC, to be able to run the newest games, and a PS3 user (let's stick with PS3) won't have to do that. Then the PC graphics will be better, but it doesn't mean that PS3's will be bad or anything. After 6 years PS3 programers will be able to draw more things from a PS3 anyway, so I think that the difference will be slight.
And I didn't say that you can't emulate a PS2. I know it can be done. I've said that you can't emulate a PS3, PSP both Xboxes, Wii, and partially NCG and Dreamcast. You can emulate the rest.
ye this is better man, you can have your opinion about gameplay but not graphics.
i like consoles too with 4 man halo 2 splitscrean is awsome. and im not sure but xbox games can be emulated. ye but ps3 has like 3 more years of life, since most consoles get switch every 6 years. and remember your playing a 3 year old hardware, but whatever is more fun for you is important nothing i can say about that

Ok... so I've read a lot of posts and this is what I concluded:
Most people chose for pc over console, but when I read the posts most say something like:
I chose pc, because I dont have a console.
Well... thats a pretty cheap argument [stated by pretty cheap people I guess :P]
And some that do have a console say that they grew up with a pc.
Again... not a very strong argument I believe..
But the ones that chose for console really have good arguments [I chose for console too, as I said in an earier post].
So I concluded that the most people chose for pc, simply because they don't know the 'awesomeness' of consoles.
So even if the majority says that pc is better... it isn't.. because consoles are far greater.:P

the PC,
even if i often play on my Wii,
i would still go with the PC.
It's just comfortable to lean back and watch movies, animes, listening to music, reply to this post, check emails, play VN, read manga, write a book, Play MMORPGs like in Chäos;Head and wait for the next hentai release.
I even got myself a notebook to be more mobile.

Make that 5-6 years, that's double the time you upgrade your pc. Some games that spike or lag on the console are like 1 on 1000, and they will eventually get patched anyway, most of the time. And pc game versions will only get better graphics then the console version if they pump a lot of money in their pc, and that will only give them slighter better graphics, hardly noticeable unless you put them next to each other.
This from someone who got both a gaming PC, PS3 and XBOX360.

PC! The customization options in PC games are very high. Map making, machinima, dedicated servers (damn you MW2!!). And, my most favourite, one of the best way to play RTS and FPS(maybe just me)!!

funny thing is they both use the same kinda processor (comparing a good pc - next gen console) and internal workings :D similar but console limited to specifics, as with a pc you have no boundaries!
PC takes my vote
