For a guy who worked under a mask for the last 10 years it's amazing he's got good facial expressions.Kind of average in the ring but hopefully he will get better. Sometimes wrestlers who are good at Lucha suck at the American style and vice versa.
I think it's funny how they originally signed the guy so he can be the next huge masked babyface and the draw for the latin-demo when Rey Mysterio finally leaves, but then they took the mask off of him and changed his entire gimmick.
Nope, I think it's logical they did that. They got lucky with Alberto - he looks like your typical Mexican handsome guy, unlike most Mexicans they featured on the show like the Mexicools and Eric Escobar, so it's a good thing to exploit that advantage and let him be that handsome heel.
And then if they want to, make him work as a face with the mask on once Rey goes out of the WWE.
It's like signing two characters with one person. And they decided to try out the unmasked one first.
I assume they'd want to make Alberto don the mask once Rey retires. Rey is a lifetime good guy in WWE, and see how the merchandise goes - arena viewers and kids love to wear Rey's mask. Can you imagine people wearing Dos Caras' mask if he's a heel - nope.

I actually can because as long as someone has a cool mask they always seem to sell well. The fact that he's the son of Dos Caras only helps him more. I have the feeling if they're not doing it now they're not going to do it ever, what with WWE wanting to own everything. I could be wrong though.
Hope he keeps improving and stays on top. Would really suck for him if in 2-3 years he wound up having to go back to CMLL. Probably would get much less of a payday for any Luchas de Apuestas.

Reason Behind WWE Tag Title Change Revealed
The decision to rename the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship the WWE Tag Team Championship was made by Vince McMahon himself. McMahon has been quoted as saying that he wants new belts to be marketed, and that it would also be easier for the talent who holds them to pass through airports more easily with one set of belts instead of two.
As of right now, it is also unknown as to whether the new titles will be considered "unified" titles to be defended on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown or whether the titles will be exclusive to RAW only.
and other news
WWE Release Serena
As reported Aug. 23, 2010 WWE has officially released Serena from her contract.
The decision to release Serena was actually made a few days ago, and Serena was in fact released due to behavioral issues while on the road that are being compared to the dismissal of Mickie James from the company earlier this year. WWE management had warned Serena about her behavior several times, and was also told that she was putting her job at risk. Unfortunately for Serena, it reached a point where WWE had no other choice but to release her. Furthermore, a push was being planned for her at the time.
We have also learned that the video of Serena drinking in a bar that aired on a past edition of Friday Night SmackDown was in fact designed to send a message to her concerning her partying habits while on the road.
WWE has not yet commented on Serena's release due to her appearing on this week's edition of SmackDown, but an announcement from them is expected sometime following the broadcast.

Curious and Wondering
OK, so this week's WWE news is out.
1. Kaval wins WWE NXT
- Cool. Three ex-ROH Champions now on the active roster. Will be interesting if WWE gives him a legit one-on-one shot at a world title soon. But I'm not amused by the fact that WWE goes around the loopholes once again and could possibly have all eliminated Season 2 NXT people go have a Smackdown version of Nexus, since all of them switched to heel mode and beat the shit out of Low Ki Kaval.
2. WWE announces an all-divas NXT Season 3
- WTF!? A 6'9" diva? God. WWE signed an indy worker a few weeks ago, "Isis", and immediately put her on the NXT list (she did, however, have a few weeks' appearances on FCW). Cool, have bypasses. I can imagine WWE having difficulty putting her on a calendar.

A diva that can execute a bicycle kick is something.
Wow, WWE found a new valet for Khali. And her NXT pro is the one-woman crowd heat generator - Vickie. I guess she'll be a heel.
And an all-diva cast? Good lord, with all the divas in each roster, good luck in finding a spot open. I just hope soon... soon... they find another Trish or Lita, divas who can execute moonsaults and hurricanranas.
3. Christian confirmed my guess for Alberto Del Rio...
... he called him JBL. Juan Bradshaw Layfield.
4. How long will WWE milk the Nexus angle?
... until the upcoming Bragging Rights PPV. See the poster at Wikipedia.
Ciao for this week.

The BR poster's The Miz BTW.
Wow. 6'9'' O.o I highly doubt they'll get another Trish or Lita. All Divas nowadays can barely wrestle. Cept for Nattie Neidhart and Beth Pheonix.

Oh, I forgot. That shenormous diva's WWE ring name is "Aloisia".
I agree. Most of the divas signed were of "rush-trained" quality, and none of them can even take a major bump. I mean, Trish Stratus can take chair shots to the body, and these divas can't. More of looks than wrestling, since beauty and brawn rarely come in one package, e.g. Lita, Beth Phoenix.
Hopefully WWE tries to look to indy promotions to seek beautiful women who can at least perform a moonsault. I re-checked their non-main-roster divas and some of them are long-time indy women... good.

Vickie Guerrero has fired her NXT season three Rookie Diva, Aloisia.
Various sources are reporting that Guerrero, the temperamental Official Consultant of SmackDown, had an argument with her 6-foot-9 Rookie Diva over Vickie’s influence over Aloisia.
The news has left WWE NXT season three shaken before it’s even started. But when reached for comment, Guerrero stated she would reveal her new Rookie Diva on the WWE NXT season three premiere

The real reason behind the 6-foot 9 Diva Aloisia being pulled from NXT Season 3 is due to some “erotic” photos that are lurking online. PWInsider.com reports that WWE has not looked too fondly on this with their current PG stance and Linda McMahon's Senate race.
Aloisia has not been released from the company and the Vickie Guerrero 'firing' was simply an angle to pull her from NXT. She is expected to be sent back to FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling).

Spoiler:
I can tell that's an Evolution-era Orton.
I'd rather believe she was deemed "too green" to put on TV, and was pulled out. I mean, she was hired only a few weeks ago! Alberto Del Rio spent months in FCW before going to Smackdown, same with Kaval, Wade Barrett, Sheamus and the likes. FCW was their training ground for TV, and this Aloisia didn't even spend long there.
Probably Vince didn't want to risk another greenhorn make an ass of herself on public TV, especially with something of this raw but commercially-viable value.
Aside from the storyline, that's my other speculation.

Aloisia Comments on Being Pulled from NXT & Explicit Photos.
When I first received my offer from WWE, they asked me to fill out a “Talent Information Form” providing them with Information about myself and my background. One of the questions was, “Have you ever posed nude?”. I answered “No” to this question, because that’s the truth. If they had asked me if I ever posed suggestively, I would of course have answered “Yes”, but there’s a big difference between suggestive and nude. As to the question of whether this was why they took me off the show, that’s something you’d have to ask them. Perhaps it was a factor in their decision, but I honestly don’t know their entire thought process, as they’ve communicated very little to me about this. From what I’ve been reading on various blogs, it seems that they may have had a political motivation to get me off the show, but again, you’d have to ask them.

I'm still hoping we'd see some Trish-quality wrestler someday again.
