Yaoi in FAKKU

you can get yaoi... just not here. My point isn't that it's wrong or that the majority don't like it; it's that Jacob and Raze don't. This isnt the united nations of hentai; it's fakku.

For a moment ill play along and take your argument. You want a reason how it's not benefitial having more forms of hentai? The form we're discussing is viewed poorly by the majority (as you said), don't you think there would be a drop off or even loss of people if yaoi became a part of this community. Honestly, why do you think pornography websites with bondage or scat differ from the general pornography sites? Why are they segmented? Yaoi may be hentai but it's a sub genre of hentai that has a much smaller niche group of fans. If you want yaoi, I would suggest you find a good yaoi website. I'm not speaking simply on behalf of my own opinion of yaoi, my line of thinking represent the majority and thus the benefit of Fakku in general. Let's face it; Fakku is about the numbers and your idea could only serve to slow the increase of new members.

Maybe I'm just too idealistic, but if a new member, or current members, are turned off and away from Fakku just because yaoi is present, then they aren't worth having around to begin with.

You have to see how childish that is. "Eww, I'm not coming to Fakku anymore because it has yaoi too." It's like something a five-year-old would say, and a really piss poor excuse for a reason as to why a new member would decide not to join.

regardless of how poor your opinion of their reason is... it doesn't change the fact that fakku is for mainstream hentai. If you want something more hardcore I suggest you go elsewhere (as i have said many times). Plus what does the reason people visit this site matter? I could understand if you didn't want some people to join the forum based on their reasoning but as it stands the only important number is pageviews and downloads... Did you forget that this is a business where volume wins?

@neko yaoi would deter new people from joining if they are new to hentai... we're on a hentai noob site; get used to it.

Okay fine, but you can barely constitute Fakku as a business. It is still more of a personal website than anything else.

Blah - that is debatable. Even if is was true, then this is one way to change that.

a personal website where pageviews are the number one concern of staff.

@neko, why change it, it's working and this is a business for jake(especially considering it's tailored to his hentai preferences).

Well yeah, but I mean it's not the same level as if there was real money going through here. Page views and downloads would be in a whole other ballpark.

As it stands, I debate if page views can really be considered a viable excuse. When it comes down to it is really only about what Jacob does and doesn't want. While that is fine, let's not veil it under majority rule and defining it in business terms.

you know this supports jake right? I think the tshirts are going to help but this is his livelihood. If I were to examine the other part of what you said it would still lead to a dead end for yaoi on fakku.

My opinion is if the admins don't want to translate it, then they have no obligation too and nobody should complain other wise. But if somebody else offered a translated yaoi to be uploaded then I see no reason not to host it. It just opens the door for a wider audience - and you wont lose your main base because they aren't going to run away due to naked anime guys when they've seen hentai DP before.

Well I know I'm barking up a tree. I'm not going to get anything by doing this, but that doesn't mean I have to not discuss it. It's like G-Money's thread about Rep. Nothing is going to come of that, but look at the result of that. Same here.

Besides, there is always a chance Jacob will change his mind.

@Tsurayu: Loli is one thing, besides that it's illegal. As for guro, tell me a percentage of people who actually dig guro - I can guarantee it's less than you imagine. But as for other forms, I do agree that yaoi should be posted because we have yuri. FAKKU! has a female base as well, so offering yaoi wouldn't hurt, but as mentioned before, if the creators of the site don't want yaoi, then we won't have it. You'll have to really try to convince them that yaoi should be uploaded here or else it's not going to happen. The problem with any democracy is whether or not the people at the top will actually act on the opinions of the masses, which applies here.

In some ways, the way this discussion is heading is reminding me of my last thread on rep.

Yeah, hence my comment I just made. <.<

Besides that, that's an empty argument. You can't relate an unrelated genre to yaoi and apply it to the situation. No matter how you want to dice it guro =/= yaoi, so they can't be compared in the same argument.

i did link him to it tonight, we'll have his thoughts on it sometime tomorrow perhaps. Either way, it was a fairly good debate.

@neko, i still don't agree that it wont upset the base and I don't believe it wont affect the stream of new members but I don't think I'm going to change your mind so agree to disagree?

ps. why would we not compare the two, they may be different niche groups but both are seen as unacceptable by the majority.

No, you have to agree with me. :D If it isn't on the main page then will they even know it is there unless they look for it?

I'm more worried about people who find it by accident, the shock value could really hurt the base.

Yeah, but comparing them for the sake of comparing them is empty when they aren't the same. The amount of people who do and don't support is anything but the same. It's like comparing an apple to a pear. They may both be fruit, but they aren't even close to the same... what's the point?
0
@Tsurayu: Like Waar said, yaoi and guro are niche groups in hentai genre/fetishes - the comparability is there. But we'll get the word from the big man soon, making the rest of the argument moot.

it has about the same amount of "point" as talking abou yaoi on fakku is the real point... Neither will see the light of day because jacob and the vast majority of users will not enjoy it.

p.s. I just wanted to add that when I was new to hentai I found this site; had I found yaoi on it I probably would have stopped coming here and looked elsewhere, do you believe fakku would have been better off without a user like me? Have I not contributed enough am I not a valued member of this community. It would also curb my enthusiasm for being here if it was posted today; I would probably visit far less.

Well even though neko-chan's post was a bit tangential, it does make sense. The reason Jacob doesn't want to deal with is probably because he personally doesn't want to mess with it.

However, I can't believe that there isn't someone on this site, who likes yaoi, would be willing to upload it, and that Jacob could trust enough to be able to handle it.

there are many... in the user uploads section.

There currently are no staff members who enjoy yaoi to the point of posting it. I think mike likes dickgirls but raze is against posting it and I don't think jake enjoys them either.

I tried posting czech boys multiple times but was -rep'd. So apparently yaoi really isn't gonna fly on here.

Well since there is yaoi in the user uploads in many ways it sort of is on Fakku already. If I was to tell a friend where to go for a yaoi I found in the user uploads, I would probably have to mention it is on Fakku. So it sort of is already here then.

so then what more do you need, front page support from admins? Just wondering, not trying to sound hostile.
