Man I can't really think of anything, is it supposed to be selected from our heritage's historic foods? The food of the place I was born? Where I currently live? Or my favorite food that can be kind of related to my heritage? Anyway factoring all this in I can only come up with one safe food, bread. Or maybe "pierogi" although I pronounce it "Porogies". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierogi The link makes it look at lot more exotic then it really is, all it is is a dumpling with potatoes and cheese flavoring inside, very filling.

this a Adobohere's the recipe:
Measure Ingredient
1 Chicken (~3lbs) pieces
½ cup Soy Sauce
¾ cup White Vinegar
1 Heads Garlic (more if pref)
2 Bay Leaves
½ tablespoon Peppercorns
1 white onion
Boil Chicken with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorns and simmer for half an hour. Remove the chicken pieces from the pot and broil them in a pan for 10 minutes. Let the sauce in the pot boil until it is reduced by half. Cover the broiled chicken pieces with the sauce put the onion for garnish. Serve hot. Serve with rice.
