3DS Vs PSP

hey fellow fakkuers/Gamer.. I was wondering which is better comparing 3DS and the PSP.. I did make a thread about the PSP VS vita.. than when I was about to get the PSP.. I notice 3DS hav alot of variety of game as well.. so I wan your opinion on which is better..?

Both have their pros and cons. But I prefer Sony. I tried the 3DS and it 3D'ness messed with my eyes. Neat feature, but for prolonged game time it can become quite bothersome.

Both have their place, but I feel 3DS has had better support. Sure, it started out rocky, but then you had that incredible price drop, followed by free games and services for early supporters, the "Ambassador" program, the demos and such... the release of the second thumbstick even, which seems like a "hey! Fuck you guys! Buy our product!", but is really, when you think about it, a neat way to get those who asked for it one without making the machine into a bulky, hideous mess...
So yes. The 3DS wins out, if only barely. I don't actually like any of the games on the 3DS yet. The PSP has a truckload of instant classics. The 3DS has... remakes of instant classics in brain-numbing 3D. Joy.

Uh, why are you comparing a system that's less than 1 year old with one that's being on the market for more than 5 years?
This is like asking, what's better, N64 or Genesis? in 1996

A more fair comparison would be 3DS vs the Vita, seeing as it's already out in Japan and out States-side this month. I really love the Vita's hardware, but all my favorite franchises [will someday be] on the 3DS. It's quite a conundrum.
If you really want to talk about 3DS vs PSP, then 3DS definitely wins. The PSP has always had a weak software library, mostly supported by Square Enix. The 3DS has the benefit of backwards-compatibility with the DS, and plenty of potential system-selling franchises.

Well to be honest... a comparison of the psp vs 3ds is limited to games vs console. Game wise 3ds has better games except i can play those 3ds games on my laptop.. and since personally the 3d screen is horrible unless your looking at the sweet spot and in a room.. limited sunlight.. yeah. Also i haz plugins for 3d on the psp too.. fucking glasses suck thought.
Console wise. Psp is better. Better wifi software, better controls, better homebrews, cfw and audio. 3ds has better internet browser though.. can't denied that.
Anyways i have a psp, vita, dsi and a 3ds and Franky i rather play with the 3d off.. really shitty 3d. Can't beat the library though. When v2 or 3 comes and they fix the crap.. then 3ds and after will be neat.

For all of you saying the 3DS is better than the PS Vita, you are wrong. The 3DS has less features than the new PS Vita, and worse graphics. Every single review for the PS Vita has been positive, with the only negative being the hefty price. Although, it is a fact that, like the PS3 to begin with, Sony will be losing money by selling the PS Vita. However, in time, also like the PS3, they won't be. Nintendo has always had a better marketing corporation then Sony, especially in the U.S. Sony may eventually advertise the PS Vita, but there has not been one advertisement and it is literally 9 days from its release in the U.S. The whole advertising thing is the only reason the 3DS has sold so well. But in terms of graphics, features, and games in general, the PS Vita surpasses the 3DS. Nintendo, especially with the whole line of DS game systems, has sold generally games for children and family. Not specifically for hard-core, Teenage, or Mature gamers. That is another core reason as to why the 3DS fails.

My lord. The 3ds is garbage. sure its 3d and stuff. but the psp can do sooooo much more. specially when its hacked. I've got a 40gig folder filled with psp games I'm about to delete... only because I need space and I'm selling my psp..
ANYWHO
the 3ds isn't my idea of a "good" handheld system
1. its directed towards kids
2. its just a nintendo ds with a 3d screen
3. no difference in actual performance of the system from previous models
4. the stylus scratches the screen
5. it can't get on the net

haha.. sorry for the unfair comparison.. is because Im thinking about this 2 consule.. thats why Im asking hehe.. but I guess the thing that makes me wanted to get the PSP is because of there's alot of anime games likes queens gate and miku diva.. but at least 3DS is not a dead consule I guess.. the reason Im not comparing PS vita with 3DS is because of the price.. and I heards there are some problem with the vita.. never really see what is the issue.. but its mostly heard from my friend's
ya.. 1 more thing.. is it true that the 3DS can play DS games.. same with PS vita able to play PSP games?

Im not bothered with the 3DS, you can just turn the 3D off if you dont like it, but there are some games where it will actually help you at judging distances etc etc.
Since it's a newer generation of handhelds the 3DS wins of course. Against the Vita though, that's a tougher one. The Vita would be more advanced, so it should win it. That doesnt mean you shouldnt get a 3DS either though.

This comparison makes no sense.
Because your opinion is superior to everyone else's? I only needed your first sentence to see that you're fanboy trash who's opinion is gonna be all bias and thus worthless.
It has better games, and people who picks graphics over gameplay ain't a real gamers.

What has this got to do with anything? Are you trying to justify the Vita's HORRIBLE sales with fanboy blabbering about bad advertising?
No one cares about it since it doesn't have any system sellers that anyone give a shit about. Uncharted? Yeah sure, if you want a sub-par Uncharted experience.
Sony just reported a 2 billion dollar loss for Q3, so they really need to hurry up making money off the PSV, only it doesn't really sell that well, so yeah....
Only a incredibly ignorant fanboy mind would say that the 3DS's succes is because of advertising rather than it's stellar library of games, which just keeps growing.
Better graphics? Absolutely.
Features? Aye. But then again, most people just wanna use it to play games, or they'll just buy an iPhone of some shit like that.
Games? Pfffff
Yeah sure, how about you give me a list of the Vita games that YOU'VE played to be able to make that comparison. And while you're at it give me a list of the games you played on the 3DS, since im pretty sure you've never even touched one, but obviously you're gonna claim that you have and that it was the worst experience of your life.
No, you're wrong, Again. The reason the DS and the 3DS are successful is because it has games for BOTH the casual players and the Hardcore crowd.
Im sure it's hard to understand for someone who has no clue what a casual game actually is. I bet you think the Mario series is casual? Because, you know, it doesn't have blood, and it has like, colorful graphics bleh.
Perfect controls and gameplay? Fuck that.
Give me a list of these awesome titles on Vita that's specifically for the HARDCORE MATURE TEENAGE GAMERS.
Is it this one?

No.. Not enough blood.
This one?

No, i see colors in there, and they're bright and shit. I need it to be dark and gritty.
Here we go!

No wait, that's just a Mario Kart rip off. And by the design it's clearly not cool enough.
Hmmm

Woo! Katamari!

Shit! The box clearly says it's for 3 year old little babies, im too mature and hardcore for that.
YES! FINALLY!

Finally we can begin being HARDCORE MATURE TEENAGE GAMERS!
Wait what? People are saying it's a repetitive shit game?
....

Once again, no. The only thing your list shows is how you fail as a gamer.

Are you by any chance related to that other idiot i just destroyed?
To the OP:
The 3DS is an awesome system which already has a bunch of great games and alot more on the way, and the same goes for the PSP, especially since alot of companies is continuing to support the PSP over the Vita due to it's VERY BAD sale figures so far.
When you see Sony supporters that bring out the "It's for kiiiids!" argument i'd say your best bet is to ignore them, their opinions are biased and generaly just plain shit.
Dunno what the point of this thread is tbh, if you're thinking about buying one of the two just go online and see which has the most compelling library of games for you and the buy it.

Nah not in the least bit. I've actually owned both systems, the psp by far still has more to offer than the 3ds. The only thing nintendo has done was come out with a new handheld every year and a half. thats either "lighter" or"bigger" or"has a few camera's on it" I' don't need you to agree with me. I'm stating what I think.
also in response to your emoticon
I'm selling my psp so I can afford a VITA.
40gigs of psp games for my hacked psp. some of witch I assume you've converted for people over the years. as I've seen your username float around thepiratebay

Im not telling you to think like i do, im just telling you that i disagree with you opinions.
But I'll admit that i might've come off as more hostile than intended towards you, because even if i really don't agree with you, and some of the arguments you brought up are just straight up wrong ("its directed towards kids"...) i was still on a roll after just having finished up the responses for that other dude and i just typed something out.

A comparison is pretty much impossible. The PSP is too old, the 3DS too new. A comparison with the Vita is rather questionable too. The tech may be better, but that doesn't even matter. What matters are the games. That's what makes the DS better than the PSP, as it has more good games (lots of shovelware too, but that's negligible as it doesn't invalidate the good ones) Due to this, I wouldn't compare the 3DS with the Vita just yet, since it's too early to do so, with the Vita just coming out.
It's to note that the 3DS had a pretty bad start game-wise, while the Vita's launch titles seem to be better. But how it will look in the long run is impossible to say just yet.
Me, I have a 3DS, but I won't buy a Vita. At least, not yet. I already too much games to begin with, anyway.

Yep. I'm playing.. well i have corpse party and bbcs2 on my vita right now. You can't play the umd games because they lack the drive but psn dls are compilable with the vita. If you check online there a system which you install a app in the psp that scans your umd something and give you a discounted price for a dl.. japan only but i had those two 'legally' in psn na.

If you go by games, the PSP is better right now, but then again the 3 DS plays regular DS games, so its hard to compare them.
