A "hard difficulty" game that indeed was BLOODY HARD?

Demon's soul. You'll throw your controller.^ This, that game is hard as shit.
Black Phantom Selen Vinland is the cheapest bitch in gaming history. It took me an entire day to beat her. Being in the most annoying level in the game doesn't help either.
My favorite platinum :)

A majority of the castlevania series. Finally beat the second boss then go to the next area beind the boss and face enemies STRONGER then the boss I just defeated. Also some of the shin megami tensei games.

I "cheated" by shooting her through the fence from the opposite side. Took around 400 arrows and a lot of rage misses.

Im going to have to agree with a few people Ninja Gaiden 1 or 2 was no joke even on normal and they still had 3 harder difficulties. But there is ofcourse a ninja dog mode for those that just suck

This, They expect people to beat 'SIN'? On a handheld? Pentavision GTFO. [I admit, Trilogy went back to its PC roots thus just being hard instead of PSP handcramp hard] And this is coming from someone who plays beatmania.
speaking of which... Imagine running at a manageable pace, then falling off a cliff straight down. That is Beatmania's learning curve in a nutshell. Incredibly discouraging to newcomers when they see stuff like this on youtube.

You actually had to exploit the very few seconds of invincibility that you get when you perform a final crush move in order to beat the last boss. Activate it a second too late or a second too early = instant game over. Oh and you control two characters at once.

Call of Duty: World at War (Fucking Nades everywhere)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (Veteran wasn't the dificult but High Mile Club is a fucking bitch to do)
somewhat the only ones I played I can think off. All the other games I played where mostly just a 'nuisance' at some parts.

True that, DMC 1 was hard from the default difficulty, then came Hard mode which doubled the craziness, then came Dante Must Die...mostly more difficult than 3 since it takes only two hits for you to die, not matter how many health you have. Surviving and beating this mode would require insane timing of dodging attacks and strategy, something not all DMC players but the true pros have.
Devil May Cry 2 was a pushover for me, I completed all difficulties thanks to Trish being an unlockable character and I spammed her Round Trip while I comboed the enemy/spammed her aerial attacks.
Devil May Cry 3 was all about knowing 95% of the combat system, and the stuff you can see on YouTube. I've played DMC 3 since the day it came out, getting used to the Jump/Weapon/Style Cancelling aspect for endless hours on Mission 2, then when Special Edition came out, I played it non-stop until I was able to master Vergil's version of Jump Cancelling, and SS ranking missions from Easy to Very Hard. I can try to complete SSing Dante Must Die since I'm more comfortable with Vergil than Dante, but it is frustrating when you have to go through missions without taking damage before AND after fighting a missions boss, it takes an insane amount of focus and patience.
