After putting up with minoris xenophobic attitudes and calling international fans of their products "filthy" I wrote this colorful e-mail to them:
What drove me to do this, was that an employee from minori edited on TL Wiki website and removed all content pertaining to *eden which was being translated. I have no problem with them bringing legal action to protect their property, but when they edited the website BEFORE they sent a letter of legal action, that's just tasteless and classless. So, to me they stooped to the level of internet thugs to prove their point.

Hmmm that is very tasteless. No warning or notice beforehand and they just edit a public wiki site that handles translations. That is so unprofessional, I mean ya I get they don't want anything pertainin, eden, to be out anymore. But come on at least give a notice or something. This is one of those times Sankaku actually covered something meaningful.

On topic, I dont really understand the logic behind taking legal actions on to fan translators, where they do not have to pay them to somehow promote their products overseas.
Since people uses that translation patch, mostly can't understand Japanese, thus consist of people outside Japan. They can't really lose any sales on that?
That or, their going on a secret campaign for prohibiting any usage of their product overseas for who knows what reason, maybe something to do with the pressure outside countries gave them regarding the game they made?
As for the edit, yeah I guess it's more of a childish misuse of power or vandalism trusted for the public, rather then a behavior lower then a hacker (since it doesnt need much skill?).
But yea, in the end, there's not much to be done, they do have the right to shoot the fan translations distributors legally.

So was I Klown, it's a sweet game even without translations but it would have been so much more awesome if translation for it had happened.
@chaos I read the letter and used translation tool for things I couldn't understand. But I get your point or how you are trying to come across.

After that was anger induced rambling most likely got lost in translation. However, after cooling down and reading from other sources; I found out why minori was doing what they were doing. It appears they wanted third parties like the ESRB to rate their games so that it would be legal to sell them in other countries. Since they only understand their on laws, they need a buffer to legally protect themselves. Of course the problem with the ESRB is no major retailers sell them if they have the AO rating.

I don't trust Sankaku to give an unbiased, or at least cool-headed report... rather I expect tabloid articles. As stupid as minori was/is in handling this, I still have to side with them. The translators struck first by translating the game, minori just doesn't know how to properly handle the issue. Also, can't blame them for being paranoid about how foreign governments view these games especially now.
